Default Ok, so I found a botting plat farmer...what do I do now?

I was in Pillar of Flames, finishing up a few quests I had on my necro, and one of them took me to the Sandscrawler gobbies.

There was a farming team there - with incoherent names - anon- killing gobbies. I didn't want to jump to conclusions. So I sat on the hills and just watched them.

They had a Fury, a Guardian, and a Wizard. They would go up to the gobbies, pull a whole bunch of them (and by a whole bunch, I mean almost all of the grouped ones with a few stragglers as they bumrushed the back of the blockade.) When the tank got down to "yellow" health, the Fury would start to heal then the wizard would AoE until all of them are dead. The trio would stop for a few seconds, then start to pick up anything that dropped. Rinse, repeat.

When they were done on one side of the blockade/camp, they would move in unison over to the other side and continue. All following the same path and the wizard would lag behind in the same spot to grab a wanderer.

When I took off my invis and approached one of the wanderers, two minutes later an actual playing character comes in and confronts the three of them. The trio was placed on auto follow and taken to another gobby camp.

I took screenshots of the names. I can't /petition because the new system lags me out and I end up going link dead.

I decided to find out why they farm these gobbies so much. So, I spent a half hour killing them.

In that time - these "totems" would drop. I got a handful of them killing the gobbies and after the half hour was up, I got bored and called home to camp.

I was shocked when I sold the drops that came off the gobbies. In a half hours time, I made approx 30 gold and it was all because these totems that dropped off the mobs.

If they would reduce or even eliminate these totems from their loot tables, there would be a lot less farmers at these mobs and everyone would be able to finish their quests and writs they have for them.

So now that I've found this group, how do I report them without using the /petition system that makes me go LD every time I try and use it?

The botting offense is when there is true automation. Wait until the monsters are killed. If your combat chat still fills up with emote spam at a constant unending pace, and then they move and you see "so-and-so was interrupted!" start to spam the combat chat, THAT is pure botting. Screenshot it and report it, because what you're seeing is a macro program spamming AE's and temp buffs without stopping, and in a manner impractical and almost impossible to do for a legitimate gamer.

Does a legit mage keep spamming his ae's and temp buffs once a second while in motion on autofollow? Yeah I didn't think so either.

I use /petition, there is no other way.

/report sends like 100+ lines of junk. Aren't you limited to one petition at a time, too?

From what I've seen, it can definitely be turned on and off.

Stay invisible or even stealthed if able. If they know you're there, they won't be as likely to give themselves away.

There are a few that power camp the lower (undead) levels of the shimmering citidel for the same reasons also on Blackburrow. It always boggled me why they would power camp solo skeletons down there when you could easilly gather collectables on the upper levels that sell for tons of cash on the broker.

I think the farmer are more interested in what they can collect as treasured drops to sell for gold quickly through an NPC merhcant rather than risk there account with the brokered Items gets banned.

I've had guys doing this exact same thing in the exact same spot on my server, Mys. Took me hours to finish my quests for them because of it. I talked a coercer friend into charming a mob and breaking charm next to them a few times but it only killed one of the people in the group that were lower level. I reported it but they still do it.

they probably all work for the same plat selling buisness, and so all use the same farming areas and techniques spread out accross many or all servers. I've also seen this happen in the same spot and same way on Antonia Bayle server...
