The biggest guild bank thief I remember was Khalysta of Kithicor. Stole Trinity's entire bank. Just recently dropped out of the top 10 richest on the server. Hasn't been guilded since, so no worries on stealing anything else.

Ugh, that's creepy w/the officer. I tend to be pretty open about RL in and out of game. My usual only saving grace is that I'm a. in the game constantly and b. I'm open about who my alts are as well, so the guild knows most of 'em.

I was on my monk one night screwing around & had a tell from a guildie going "uhhhh you don't box an alt named Party, do you?" "lol no why?" "he's claiming to be you" "lol really?"
Apparantly this guy was saying he was me and babbling gibberish.

The guildie was one of our more staunchly mannered members and was really offended with it. I was kind of entertained and mildly horrified. He (Party) had been in my tells before, being wierd - don't remember about what. We never found out wth he was up to or why he was impersonating me (masochist much?) or why he picked me in the first place. I thought it might be a friend screwing around with me.

Then, another night, I was on yet another alt and he was bellowing for directions to Shadowdash in OOC. I told him in /ooc to go right up the path just past the docks and follow the road straight west, it'd be a bunch of rocks on the left after Thundermist Village. I get these angry tells:

"You talking about the DOCK?"
"i already went to the dock"
"and went straight out, looked left" (er...you skipped a step...)
"there's a giant mountain on my left"
This interspersed wtih more yelling in /ooc.
me: "ok best of luck, I need to help my friend here"
him "wtf"
"you tell me the location to the dock"
...
"FUCK YOU"
"stuck up prick"

Docks, rocks, it's all the same buddy. Keep wandering around... sooner or later a griffin will jump out & eat you, and you'll be there!

LOL Computer pwns the WeebleWobbles!

A friend's 12 yr old son plays the game once and a while and when his Dad helped him out & gave him some money, he decided his Dad must therefore be loaded and logged in to help himself. Only, he helped himself to the guild bank vs. his Dad's bank, and took out a few items and some money from there, mailed it to his other toon and boogered off. I logged in and saw these wierd withdrawls from the guildbank and sent the Dad a mail asking if he knew the second guildbank was player to player xfers only & those items were for probably someone else's. Him: "what??" /panic
I see him log out and a bit later I get a tell from the son (who I'd known, as Father/Son were both in a guild we ran together), dragged from his comfy bed to log in his toon and confess his crimes. Turns out he'd vendored the cobalt plate guantlets he'd grabbed, and a couple other items.
So, his Dad sold his horse and most of his stuff to go get new armor made and replace it and the money, and the son, a lvl 11, is paying back his 2pp "loan" 5g at a time.

We have another guildie whose 10 yr old plays the game as well. I can only think "heh heh...timebomb!" when it comes up in conversation.

Luckily I only have to worry about my husband, atm. I came back from an AFK to find my monk's last name changed to "puffybunnyfeet."

lol... if you're a guildleader and you fall for these scams, I think you're the most dumbest, (insert all applicable words that mean's stupid here). You should be at least a wee bit intelligent to actually avoid these. It's common sense people!

I really feel bad for those peeps tho :smileysad:

Ventrilo helps. But, many people really dislike voice chat and the game. I dislike hearing people EAT on ventrilo, but that's a sidetrack.

Worst part about Ventrilo is when you have someone that plays a hot female dark elf but sounds like James Earl Jones

oo greg indulge those of us who arent.

We had one a while back. I cant remember his name it started with a G and alt was named Click. Anyways we were pretty lax about bank rules at the time so he was helping himself and then shuttling the stuff to a non guilded alt and brokering it. We found out he kinda admitted itand was booted/blacklisted.

Had another one a former officer that held the guild bank before guild banks were around. and the overflow from the GB when we were lower guild lvl. Anyways, she doesnt log on for long time. then logs on everynow and then early morning moves/withdraws GB items but doesnt respond to tells. Finally we boot her. And shes like WTF mate? in our public forum flames ensue. Few days later "the guy that now owns the acct" gives the majority of the stash back to a member that turns it over to an officer.

Well on Crushbone server back in 2005, Elysium was a small (24 mains or so) guild that was then #1 raiding guild. Ziggi was the guild leader, and through the different raid zones they had accumulated a lot of wealth. Ziggi kept track of it for the guild.

One day, Ziggi and others left the server to attempt to join NPU. The guild bank was empty (Ziggi had moved it onto an alt on another server for "safe" keeping(once the empty bank was discovered and he was called on it in the SOE forums) and also rumored bribes to NPU to get their people in..as well as he just wanted it[I would assume]).

The new guild leadership called them out on it. Ziggi said it was all a misunderstanding, NPU kept Ziggi supposidly on contested watch for them(He never fully made it in, but some of the other did). Etc. Later Ziggi return "all"(But some inside sources tell me it wasn't all) the guild bank to a Elysium character. Course Elysium, had to pay transfer fee to get it back onto their server. Ziggi was asked is this all of it?(Since it did seem very thin for all their raiding, he said "yes").

Other sources tell me a GM actually got involved.

Course I assume robbing the guild bank of the guild you are a leader of, isn't against SOE rules, so don't know why a GM would get involved. It may be slimy, but not a EULA violation. But a source very close told me a GM pretty much forced ziggy to hand over the goods.

Even virtual money and goods corrupt people.lol.

I think because of all of the "public" stink NPU never let Ziggi in, some of the others in that group that left Elysium together did make it though(Most said they had no idea the guild bank came with them, and even if it did Ziggi has full rights to do whatever he wanted since he had been guild leader)

Some of the interplay can be found in SOE crushbone server forums.
