Write your congressman while you're at it. There's no good reason why there shouldn't be a legal avenue against plat selling or its derivatives and related businesses, even if it involves an amendment to federal law.

You know what we need Illum?

1. We need a sample "letter to my congressman" asking him or her to introduce a bill that will make selling virtual goods illegal if it violates the license agreement of the game company.

2. And then, we need a table with the email address of every US congressman, sorted by geographical location so everyone can pick theirs out.

3. And then, we need a few thousand people to execute. The last part will be easiest.

Who will take this task? I'm working. I'll spam this all over the Internet, hell, I'll buy a domain URL and put up a webpage for this, if someone takes the opportunity and creates the above information.

As much as I hate Plat Sellers, I don't think doing anything to congress will do a damn thing. Why? Because last I checked, plat sellers aren't generally in America. So, what good is an American Law going to do? Nothing, unless on the off chance there's an American doing it, who will just move to Canada. The only thing we can do is get Companies to stop making a game where there is something so remedial that you can farm for and sell for real life cash. The problem is, there has to be something like that in-game for the game to work and have some form of time-sink.

Now, one of you slackers that understands the US govment =p or has at least taken a political science class, please draft a letter to your congressperson asking for sales of virtual property to be outlawed when such sales are prohibited by a game developer's license agreement. Focus on the inconvenience to you in game, and how this destroys the value of your license fees. It all ties together.
