EQ2 should do gold spammers like Vanguard
Scenario:
Primetime Sunday night during double exp weekend. Server channels are packed with happy exp'ers.
Suddenly, peace and happiness in this MMO Garden of Eden are interrupted by anger and complaints about a gold spammer. Other players respond "petition that bastard!"
Less than five minutes later, a yellow text serverwide broadcast is seen: "Dear players, we regret any inconvenience, but we've just banned player Xjlksfdjlkjlsfdk for gold selling and spamming. Kindly delete any petitions you may have in the queue about that player."
And the channels erupt with cheers of joy from the people, although quickly devolving into arguments about who petitioned that bastard first. This is the expression of true and ultimate MMOG player happiness.
Vanguard's "gold spammer SWAT team" response is pretty amazing, and appears to make players ecstatic.
EQ2 should consider doing this same thing, announcing when people are banned. It makes the server channels light up with happiness, players feel like the war against gold sellers is being fiercely fought and won, and just gives a huge lift to server morale and comaraderie.

Eh? So you expect SOE to broadcast messages every 5 minutes when a new gold spammer account is created?
Sounds unrealistic to me

Seriously how hard would it be to just have somebody assigned to kill the gold spammer accounts as soon as you get a petition. How long do you need to investigate 5 seconds? Get the name, look at his tells, if his tell says come buy plat, ban him. Would take 5 friking seconds.

Yah, so we end up getting them every 5 minutes, which would become annoying really fast. And people would not really care to see it.

What if it were like a bulletin board that you could check a running list of people banned for buying or selling plat? Perhaps tacked up on the castle door in North Qeynos.
Better yet, an NPC you can hail like a special investigator. You can use him to report suspects and check the status of others you turned in. That way, those that are passionate, like yourself, have an outlet while not overly bothering the rest of the server.
