And before anyone bitches, I'm not really sure it matters anymore if people make posts insulting platsellers that show the plat seller's web sites in screenshots.

We all probably get at least 10 tells a day from these people, who among us doesn't already know these URLs and site names?

And I don't think that posting them here in this type of post would ever result in anyone buying plat from these idiots. So, in reversing earlier policy, I'm now saying that allowing the site names to be listed in this type of thread is not the same as providing free advertising to them. Anyone lame enough to buy this shit would do so whether or not these site names were shown in this type of screenshot.

On the other hand, make no mistake that ads posted on this site by platsellers will continue to be immediately removed as they are posted.

If you think this makes me a hypocrite, please go stand on the train tracks.

yea i got that mail yesterday too on all my toons. the day before that, i played for 3 hours (12am-3am) and i got literally a tell every 5 minutes or less! it was nuts, i had too disable all tells and leave my AFK up saying if you want too talk send a group invite o.O. i will get the log later, it still records the tells in logs because i had them going in an invisible chat window which i keep for just such a purpose

This seems to make it clearer and clearer to me why all raid fabled gear needs to be "NO TRADE".

And yes, it is very difficult discussing "enemies who shall remain nameless". Associating URL's with activity is very important.

If you have a problem with my thread deleat it, though I don't think thats quite what you are saying. I am extreamly easialy ammused as most people can tell you. I had never seen this before and had to share my excitment!(no this doesn't mean im going to buy stuff im cheep) the thread has no other point than that, I know that we all get stuff like this but I asked a few people and they had not recived the mails in game and this was hours after I recived it so I decided to share.(just to expand on this Elleffgee only one of my 6 charecters recived this in game mail, and it wasent my main)

I don't expect SoE or anyone else to do anything, just merly found it extreamly amuseing. Kinda like when I got that plat tell saying "ALONG WITH PLAT WE ARE NOW SELLING RARE CRAFTED FURNITURE THIS WEEKS SPECIAL 2 BONE DESK FOR 5.99$" ever get that one?

No Raz, I have zero problem with your thread. I kind of liked it actually, and the only reason I moved it was because it was directly on point with the Farmer's Almanac section. So thank you, and keep posting.

I just wanted to make the editorial comment I made above to establish a new precedent on this site. If I didn't come out and say what I did, someone in the future (or even later in this thread) would call me a hypocrite for saying one thing previously, but allowing a different thing now.

In fact, the US Supreme Court reverses itself about as often as I do. Situations, environments, people, and circumstances change, rules need to also change with the times, when appropriate.

All I'm saying is that on this site, in the future, it is ok to post screenshots and make comments naming the plat sellers you are making fun of or whatever. They've marketed themselves so that their company names are the same as their domain names in many cases, and it is often impossible to talk about them without mentioning their URL. It is still prohibited to advertise for plat sellers, however. I reserve the right to distinguish between the two things. I may even be sorry for saying this in the future, but distinguishing between the two things is at least as complicated as defining pornography.

Okay, so I'll get this back on track and give purpose to having their adress in the screenshots.

Lately they are using a spaced out .com as . C 0 M , before they used to use a straight up .com with their addy in front of it, now what is the purpose of this? Is it helping them not get caught or was it just some wacky form of "fun" that whoever makes the chat for them to paste came up with...I dont really understand it.

I've gotten over 8 more messages throughout the day today, they are working hard!
Maybe its to afford those pricey mothers day gifts.
Or maybe they are watching
