how i deal with spammers

so we've all gotten the adds for some company/website selling gold at one point or another. its not so bad nowadays with the spam filter, but sometimes it gets annoying, so heres what i do when i feel like taking out some of that frustration.

step 1. report/petition. time consuming and all, but w/e can be skipped if you're lazy. important, if you do this do it first, you dont want to report yourself for what you're gonna do next.

step 2. tell them that you've found better prices on other websites or better delivery times to stir them up a bit. also let them know that they're a ripoff and you're not gonna buy from them unless they give you a free sample. throw in whatever else you feel like to piss them off.

step 3. if they've responded and you can tell that they can at least understand english, insult and flame the fuck out of em. if not, proceed to step 3b.

step 3b. if they don't understand or don't respond, use universal sign language. copy and paste the following:

im sure il get flamed for this. but do what i do.

1. buy plat from these assholes.
2. buy it from a prepaid credit card.
3. do a charge back.
4. 9/10 times it works

claim they did not deliver on what you bought. who are they going to bitch to? soe? not likely. I know from experience, that 1. paypal despises charge backs. 2. if enough people do charge backs paypal will get pissed and not do business with them. THEY WILL DROP THEM.
If that happens, they will have no choice to just use regular credit cards. which is better cause the credit card companies are more on your side than paypal is, and paypal is way easier to get a refund with, so if your credit card company gives refunds fast stealing plat from these gooks is a walk in the park.

yeah, it sucks to even deal with these assholes.

what this accomplishes is:

you get free plat.
they dont make any money.
they spend more time fighting chargebacks.(this in turn makes them send less spam, email)
less money coming in means less dinks runing bots.

in conjuction with us reporting them, taking their money with no return in the end means they cannot operate.

I mean lets face it, they find ways around the spam filters, they run bots 24/7. only way to really combat these assholes to hit them in the pocket book.

flame all you want.

but the only way to really combat these fucks is make it harder for them to collect cash, ie paypal and your credit card company.

lets face it , soe cant fix this. only we can.

hit them where it hurts-
their pocket book.

Charge backs are expensive as well for the store involved. Last I checked they would roughly cost $30 per transaction depending on the credit card company. While it's very entertaining to see you stick it to 'em, it is credit card fraud.

How I deal with spamers?
I go to the website and spam their live chats with hardcore/fetish porn sites. I figure it will hinder their productivity, or maybe get them fired.

I have also filed multiple AUP claims with PayPal (aup@paypal.com) suggesting that plat sites are illegally selling SOE's intellectual property and inferring that PayPal is promoting Piracy. PayPal doesn't see any issue with plat sellers or at least the big annoying one that we all know.

I believe PayPal should revisit their policy, and review the SOE EULA, as all items and in game coin are property of SOE we just pay them the right to accumulate it. I am going to try to find Western Union's AUP contact list and see if they will do anything.

True. But they would have to prove that now wouldnt they.
never said it was ethical, never said it was right. Not even saying its fool proof. All im saying is with the experience ive had personally with the way credit cards work, plus my wife fights chargebacks for a living, for a major resort here in vegas, and she comes home telling me how these company's bend over back wards to give the customers money back.

Of the 5 or 6 times ive done this, i have yet to never get my money back. With my wife handling the chargeback, we get the plat, and our cash back, as well as a nice laugh knowing, ive caused some greif to some idiot and his accountant somewhere having to fight a charge back as well as not get paid.

Im only one man, doing what i can. Together, we could wipe them out.

Probably got your account in EQ2 banned.

I don't see how it couldn't work because there is no way for them to prove to PayPal they delivered your goods unless SoE cooperates with the inquiry, in which case you get banned.

Most of the time it works because the Chinese dude doesn't respond to PayPal when you issue the claim. My friends all got free lv70 WoW characters by doing that.

Until the CC company catches on to what your doing, and ask PayPal for the IP addy the ordered was placed and next thing you know the FBI is at you door asking about you questions CC Fraud.
