The funny thing is though is that it was called for by those that wanted to have serious discussion there. Players wanted a place where they could have discussions regarding the game without all the noise, nonsense, and aggravation of those who refused to "play nice". It was a very similar call to what we are hearing here in this thread.

Once the step was taken to more strictly enforce the rules as they stood, bannings started happening and Flames was born from the outrage at the sudden turn of tide. Flames was pimped by many as the place to speak out against those that would silence you.

The irony of this line of thought, that the site created from the distaste of the state of the official forums has also slowly been seeing its own slow decay of suppression of thought, it makes me nearly giggle.

You can't have it both ways. You can't say "We want a place to speak freely!" and then turn around and decide who and what is actually allowed to speak and where. Someone, somewhere will have to be put in charge of deciding who is worthy of being heard, and who is not. Is that really what is wanted here?

There are many that hang around these parts that were unable to comply with the rules of the official forums who have the gall to call for more rules and moderation now. You people are fucking idiots. Its become clear that the problem was never rules and moderation, but -who- the rules and moderation effected. These people in particular aren't concerned about the quality of conversation amongst the more serious forums, they are more concerned that the showboaters will over shadow their dirty dishwater personalities. Say something interesting once in a while and its a non-issue.

So there are some show offs. There are those who walk into threads, rape them with their asinine humor, then walk back out. Grow the fuck up. Nothing in life is scripted, and if ya all can't handle a little kink in your train of thought then you all should quit the internet now.

So yeah. I'm off to go say something stupid now because LFG was kind enough to give me a place to do that.

For now.
Hang on. Did you really just equate a few hundred spam posts as being a "slow decay of suppression of thought"?

You've missed the boat on this one. What people are calling for is a reduction in the number of posts that contain NO information other than blatant 'look at me' spam or personal attacks. Don't fuck up and think a personal attack is the same thing as a quality flame. Spam is not a flame either. Many have twisted what this site was founded to provide and facilitate -to what it is today. They have convinced some of the sheep that spam and machine gun personal attacks are the stuff flaming is made of.

It isn't.

Some of the people that recognize this are willing to go so far as accept moderation to save what made this site popular. Eleventy billion spam posts, paint sigs, and humorous .gifs did not build this site. None are required to maintain it. I assure you that every person you claim that is attracted to the site for those features, I will likewise claim you drive off another that is sick of it for those features. Dumbfucks thumbing through their dogeared copy of "Internet Arguing for Dummies", satisfying their need to do nothing more than type posts about how they are right, you are wrong, and you are a fat loser, are a dime-a-dozen. They truly add nothing to the site and are among it's biggest retards.

However, if this is the intended vision for the site, I offer my humblest apologies and say good luck to you all. If it isn't, now is the time to speak up and get things back on track. This discussion has deeper meaning than some of you think, so go ahead and thumb your nose at it. Heck, the only thing preventing this thread from being a perfect example of itself is motherfucking pie.

Hey, Talonis. Interesting fact: Tetanus is actually a reference to the Tet Offensive during the Vietnam war. Vietcong and NVA soldiers would jam their rifles in the assholes of the white devil invaders. The rifles were generally somewhat rusty, from being stored hidden underwater in rice paddies. Thus how the term Tet Anus came about, and it can be contracted by stepping on rusty items.

You probably should have just ctrl-c/ctrl-v "pie" 65 times. It wasn't required, but thanks for providing us with an example of what I am [and others] are referring to. Your mock of my point is thoroughly lost in the sea of spam. You could have done it in far fewer words.

+1 to your post count. A few more gems like that and you'll be at 3500. That will certainly be cause to celebrate with a few animated .gifs and earn you a gold can of SOE-donated spam or something. Grats.

Did you know that the island of Haiti was originally named Hades? Christopher Columbus mistook the island for hell after discovering it was populated by thousands of black people and made a hasty retreat.
