Lets Get New People on the EQ2Flames

I personally would like to have a lot more people using this site. I find it absolutely entertaining. But it's the same people, day in and day out.

Lets not kid ourselves, most of the knowledgeable players of EverQuest 2 don't use the Station Forums anymore and If they do it is a rarity. When I log in on my Server's Forums I see just about only lower level people talking there. You say they are wrong, you get jumped by a Mod for not being nice. And well, thats when the Station Forums usually end up not even showing up on your History when you do go back.

I feel the more new people we get in the better our gaming will be in the future. You all know with this level cap increase that is coming we are going to catch hell in any pick-up group we might actually accept several times during this..."yea, just did a line so I can stay up"...Grind Fest that is coming.

Personally, I don't want to end up in a group with a coercer who charms shit wasting conc. slots, a guardian who uses 2 1handers for dps (you laugh, its true) a healer who just won't fucking heal because...that takes away from their dps.

So, lets try and advertise off and on in different channels when it pops into our minds.

P.S. ~ If you think I am a retard or gay for this thread, great, go solo then and don't bitch or even think to put some player on Rate-a-Retard because they didn't know how to truly play their class. We all got advice some point in time.

just get more people to see this on official forums and they will come:

Relatively new player here, and just joined the forums. I started playing when EQ2 first came out but quit long, long ago and only came back about 6 weeks ago. My troub is now at lvl 51 and I have a looooot to learn about how to play her! I try my best but some things you just can't learn by yourself, especially about the higher end game or community stuff.

I was interested in these forums over the official ones because while official ones are usually informative, they are usually static, overmoderated and not usually as enjoyable as player based forums.

Since joining the forums the past couple of days, I've learnt many really important things about how the game is played, how my class is played and which drama is best (mainly the latter!

, and I didn't even need to post and ask stuff to learn it!

So basically yeah, you're right, getting new players onto the boards would make a lot of sense. They get the chance to learn stuff, stuff you can't learn from formal forums such as acceptable behaviour on servers, some of the finer points of how the community works on EQ2 etc as well as finer points about raiding and their class.

And you guys get some new faces and voices on your forums

That might not work especially for people like me. I read these forums a lot but rarely post. You'd probably be surprised by the number of lurkers.

Your problem with this site Illuminator is that you once thought of yourself as one of those "elite," and now that everybody has pushed you out of it, you're completely against it.

As for does this site stress "free" speech? No, it does not. It stresses less regulated speech than on the official boards. And obviously since there is less regulations, there will be people who get up in your face to tell you that you're dumb, blind, wrong, retarded, etc. because that's what people need to realize they're stupid. Fuck people who need to be handheld on every little god damn thing, if you can't figure out the easy things, you will get told you're dumb. Don't like it? Then go to the official boards where there's more regulations and you won't be told you're dumb.
