Anyone else getting pop-ups from these guys? Only happens when I visit EQ2Flames...

Yup. Getting popups. Surf Control here at work is blocking the ad in the window though, so not sure what the ad is for.

These aren't pop ups, they are "pop unders". They appear behind all other windows, not in front of your screen. You can close them later.

Those pop unders pay the bulk of the ad revenue. We need to leave them on to fund the site, our costs just went up a ton with the new server.

As a reminder, you can disable all ads on this site, including pop unders, for a one time donation of $10 by using the donate link in the top menu bar.

Thanks for understanding.

That would be nice and all if they didn't crash my FireFox when I closed the window.

Update Firefox.

I have advertisements turned on to make sure there's no malware and I've never crashed.

In fact, I only see the pop-unders maybe once in 100 refreshes.

There are no updates. I'm always up to date with FF. as additional information, usually if the ad is a no-no to my company filter I get their "access denied" screen on the ad, this tribal fusion pop under comes up with wing-dings and assorted gobble dee gook... in the window.

No worries... just figured I'd let you know, however it might be this spectacular Dell Product that I'm using. I don't typically browse Flames from my gaming rig at home, but I might check it tonight for continuity sake.

I'm getting pop-ups (or whatever they are - FF blocks them) and talking ads.

Pretty obnoxious. Operating costs are that high these days, eh?

I have done a couple thousand page refreshes since yesterday when we got the new ads. I've gotten a POP UNDER three times, and one for some smiley web site had a short sound effect that didn't repeat.

Yes, my costs are much higher these days. I'm not changing the ads. If you don't like this, please donate a minimum of ten bucks and I'll turn them off for you. But please don't think this is an effort on my part to try and get your hard earned ten spot, it isn't. In my opinion the ads are extremely reasonable, seeing as how we just reduced the ads from 3 ad panels to 2.

Truthfully, your contribution to this site by viewing the ads is greater than by paying 10 dollars. Ad free viewing is just provided as a low cost alternative to those who can't stand the ads.

But if you choose to view the ads, you can also be assured that they don't contain any malware this time. We are using Tribal Fusion, the largest, cleanest and most reputable ad agency on the Internet next to Google. And I WON'T use Google because I cannot 100% effectively screen out RMT ads. Having a VG site, surely you can appreciate that.
