Faabio editing and screwing with moderation in a different forum is pretty much asshattery in my opinion.

I wasn't comparing you to other people with edit rights. Honestly, who cares if anyone edits their posts afterwards - that wasn't stated in the contest rules...

I was referring to the fact that you gave yourself edit rights and stickied a thread that was outside the scope of your moderation area. And then continued to un-delete and re-sticky your thread.

Cochy was pretty much out of line in that he shouldn't have judged your entry to be disqualified and taken it down, but you should have at least tried to work it out with him and have him do the moderation on it. It is his section.

Of course, this is all my opinion...

Yea, my bad, I should of went through Cochy but since the start of this contest I've got a less than warm reception from many of the community. Cochy being among them. I honestly didn't view it as anything that would cause harm and in that aspect I am completely honest. But yes, for that I apologize.

But no, I didn't have a back and forth with him deleting (or sticky and unstickying) the thread, I left it deleted for LFG and/or Niber to fix. I wasn't going to play that game.

The intention of the class sections were always to give the mods absolute authority in their section, subject only to the Site Rules and an abuse of discretion standard.

I have no problem with Cochy protecting his section as he did. And he also sent me PMs for clarification and to resolve the situation, which I'll give him props for.

With that said, I'll also point out that Cochy and I aren't friends, and rarely agree about anything. Faabio and I are guilded together and are friends, which makes this situation a problem for me.

Gaige and I are also friends, although I'm not sure why I need to say that except to try and explain that I don't make decisions on this site based on friendships. Gaige has always supported this site and contributed in a positive way here, and I'll continue to do the same toward him.

But I need to leave Faabio with control over the PVP sections. You'd have to be from Pluto to not understand that the people who play on PVP servers in this game are radically different from non-PVP players. The PVP sections get out of control, revert to chaos, and become a full time job when they aren't being modded by someone who has a reputation and respect in the EQ2 PVP community. The PVP sections bring in about 10 percent of our site traffic. I need a PVP mod for the same reason I need a tradeskill mod and class leaders. The site just doesn't function well without those things.

As I said above, I've spoken to Faabio and he is clear about where the PVP sections are now, and of the importance of specialized roles on this site.
