Um, I haven't seen anyone condemning you for being honest. They're condemning you for buying plat in the first place. It's like saying you stole money from our best friend, but hey you confessed, so we should all be like, "hey good for you for being honest"? I think what Decorator is saying is that he/she didn't steal money from anyone's best friend, instead, he/she stole money from a despised and often berated enemy and would like people to throw him/her a little slack.

Kinda like shooting a guy 50 times and then saying "Hey! I think he sold crack a coupla times! What a low-life!" just so that no one gets to worked up.
