Default Feature request - Dev Tracker

The Dev Tracker integration with the New Posts section of this website is hugely important to me as it is. When importing the RSS feed, would it be possible to list each dev post author as him/herself instead of as "EQ2Flames"?

Will need Niber to answer this, he's underwater with work atm, may be some time before we can respond.

To my knowledge, it's not possible. Here's the actual EQ2 RSS feed..

http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/rss/tracker?roleev

As you can tell, theres no real author field to parse. Only message title and contents. That would be the first hurdle.

Second, vBulletin allows you to assign a name, but I'm not sure they would allow a stored variable even if we could fetch it.

I've never heard it done before, I'll explore the possibility but I am doubtful.

Mmm, don't know how I didn't see that.

{rss:author} seems like a valid variable, now the problem lies in the way vBulletin handles it -- because it won't accept a variable in the user field. What I could do, is add it to the title field.

Example; Moorguard - I like Green Eggs and Ham.

Not sure if that's a substitution for your problem or not. I'll keep my eye out for other alternatives.

It's a good interim solution.

I think the "EQ2player name preface in post title" solution is excellent. We couldn't sub the poster name with the EQ2player name of a SoE employee here, because that would make it appear that they are actually posting, and I wouldn't want anyone to mistakenly think the posts were voluntarily made here by a SoE employee if that didn't happen.

So posts with titles in the form of "Gallenite - I think eq2flames rawks!" would be swell!
