Every edit can be reverted. So in the event there is a gross abuse of the edit function we can revert and ban the abuser.

That said, I was tooling around a few days ago and was able to set time limits on several forums to 15 minutes. (I think, I haven't had time to test it yet.. )

To expand on what I said earlier, 15 minute timelimits should be in effect for all forums except the server, recruitment, and class forums. (For updating recruitment threads, progression threads, etc.) I'm on vacation till Friday so I'm difficult to reach but if there are any other edit abusers let me know and I'll fix them as soon as I can.
