Any news on EQC?
I heard rumours of EQClassic being completely shut down for good, and I'm extremely upset to hear this since I have been following their progression for over a year or two now.
I forgot the MIRC channel info so I haven't been able to get in touch with the Dev's and the website is totally shut down...
Does anyone have any information that they can give me as of right now? Is there potentially a possibility EQC will be returning or am I just shit out of luck once again?

Be nice to see a full fledged Pre-Luclin Classic server just as EQC had intended to do...If this project were such a threat to the financial stability of SOE then wouldn't it make more sense for them to make one themselves? Or perhaps...They don't know how....

Honestly SOE should have just had them make it and once it was done bought it from them. Even name the servers after the Devs!!! lol |

Srsly. Kind of like what they did to Verant in the first place LOL.
As far as I've gathered from the Dev's posting on the Yahoo Forums, the entire project has gone underground and will never be released to the public unless SOE comes to some sort of a legit agreement in which SOE would be benefiting from the organization as well.
Do you think that's gonna happen? Probably not.

While I understand making classic versions of pvp MMOs (uo, m59), making classic versions of pve stuff seems pointless. You'd beat the game, never have anything to look forward to, then lose interest.
In PvP classic games you have novel rulesets but also an evolving set of human opponents. Even if the content stays the same, the players don't.
