Dear Everyone Complaining about Ads:
You may have noticed our economy has entered a depression.
Do you see the public service ads that often display now instead of the commercial ads? Do you think we have become philanthropists and prefer to run non-paying PSAs?
If you do, you're wrong. What's happened is that most advertisers have slashed their ad budgets, and especially their Internet ad budgets, because of the economy. We run two different advertising agencies: (1) Tribal Fusion and (2) AOL (they bought advertising.com). When one of those agencies can't serve an ad, it defaults to a non-paying public service ad so we don't just serve a white box.
This has caused our advertising income to plummet. Do you seriously think we are getting rich off this site? If you do, you're really stupid. Just ask anyone who admins a small web site how much they make.
As our ad revenue continues to slide, it is unclear how much longer our monthly expenses will exceed our monthly ad revenue.
What is clear is that I don't earn as much as I used to, I got laid off several months ago and took a lower paying job. I don't play this silly game anymore, haven't for about a year, and have no intention of ever starting back up again. My real life occupies my time these days, and I find myself spending ten minutes on this site here and there once or twice a day, just to clean up bullshit problems caused by ungrateful assholes who somehow think the world owes them a living.
Well, it doesn't. And I don't owe anyone on this site anything, except possibly gratitude to a handful of people who've helped on this site and provided content and fellowship here over the past years.
Seriously, is anyone so retarded they think a site like this is free, or somehow I owe the world the privilege of viewing this site and posting here?
There was a time when I spent hundreds of dollars monthly out of pocket on this site, for things like new skins and contests, just because I enjoyed doing that. Those days are now farther in the past than my Corporate American Express Card, my company car, and my daily 2 P.M. naptime.
Going forward, if this site isn't self supporting, I'm going to shut it down before wasting more money just to be insulted for the money I've spent and the work I've done here.
You assholes who bitch about spending 10 lousy dollars to get your ads turned off permanently on this site can lick my nutsack. Please crawl back into your ghetto or trailer and complain to someone who gives a shit, because I don't.
We are in survival mode, bitches. Thank you Niber for blocking this site for those running adblock. Most of those dumbasses will probably think they've been banned until they recover a brain cell and realize they can view this site again just by disabling adblock.
The fuckers who think it's cute to harm this site even more by educating others on how to disable ads can especially go to hell. I'm going to delete your shit in the future when you post it, and if you insist on posting it again, I'll ban you and laugh hysterically afterwards, because I'll know you got exactly what you paid for.
In summary, my sincere thanks to those who help shoulder the burden here, and a sincere fuck you to those who try and make things harder for me and others.
