Flame Duel "Cage Match" Suggestion

Anyone else interested in this, or think it could work?

I kind of like the idea myself, and would go so far as to add a poll with public votes that allowed people to pick the winner of the "flame duel" thread.

On the other hand, the idea may just be gay.

You tell me.

More than 50 votes in favor within a week, and we'll give it a try.

If nothing else, it might be entertaining, and could end up in some pretty good flame wars between the loudest, angriest, and most opinionated people in EQ2. Those who were capable could challenge and accept, others could point and watch.

Just an idea is all, nobody get upset please.

It is partially my idea, so I think it would be fun...
Some more stipulations. Challenges would be public, but they would have to be for a real beef. Not just I see Person A posting alot, let's challenge him.

Set time limits for replies.

Also, an impartial ref who awards/deducts points would be cool.

No matter who you got to ref, one of the two people would declare that person was biased in some way, and would use that claim as a reason for their failure or to withdraw from the match.

Yeah, no ref. The player base in the commentary thread would put it to a vote when enough time elapsed between posts.

As long as it wasn't Kendricke in a duel, I'd be impartial.

Now, were he to actually have the balls to show up and I were to referee, it'd be something like this:

"You sir have no argument. Were it not for your ad homin..."

me: /blows whistle "Minus one point, dickhead"

"I fail to see why I should have to respond to his ad hom..."

me: /blows whistle "Minus another point, fuck you, you lose"
