I'm sick to death of dealing with anon bullshit and I'm not taking it anymore.

I'm going back and forth with a couple users who are attempting to register multiple accounts on the same IP number right now.

I know you are just one person, I'm not stupid, don't insult me again by thinking I'm a dumbshit. Just because yahoo, hotmail, aol, comcast, earthlink, and every other provider in the US allows you to register multiple email addresses doesn't mean you should assume I'm retarded and don't know that. And trust me, 98% of the time I'll find out.

I've deleted the secondary accounts you are trying to register. Do not continue making me work like this or I'll ban your IP number.

If for any reason you have a valid need to register two accounts from the same IP number, such as for different people living in the same house, I'm perfectly fine with that, PM it to me. But I have no choice but to call bullshit when it's obvious to anyone sitting at an admin console that only one person is involved.

The most common problem involves someone who wants to act like an upstanding community member on an account naming their toon and guild, but also wants to start shit with another guild or person on a second anon account.

If I didn't try to prevent that, the time it takes to deal with complaints involving anon posters would be out of control. And nobody would know what to believe, or who to trust on this site.

As it is, we only have a couple purely anon posters on this site. I can't prevent anyone from posting anon on just one account. If I tried to have rules saying no poster can be anon, they could still post by claiming to have a level 1 character somewhere. And where would that end, it wouldn't.

So if someone wants to only have one account on this site and raise hell with people as an anon poster, like the guy in the Butcherblock forum is doing now, I can't prevent that, it's his choice, and it does increase the entertainment on this site to some extent. I will never "out" a person like that unless I discover him using two accounts. I will never disclose the IP number or email address of any poster on this site unless required to do so by law.

Anon posters generate about 90% of all complaints from other users on this site and other problems that eat my time. Frankly, while I must tolerate this as I've specified in the Site Rules, I'm damn sure not going to allow it one inch further than that. It is my personal opinion that anon posters are pussies, but like I said, I will respect a person's right to be a pussy on one account.

I still can't 100% prevent someone from registering two accounts if they have separate email and IP addresses from home and work or school, for example.

But yeah also, I've had several situations with people thinking they were cute and trying to register 5+ hotmail accounts to refer themselves to get a custom title. I've caught each of these people, deleted all the excess accounts, and sent them a nasty PM explaining that I'm not retarded and thanking them for wasting my time. Despite all that, one guy even did that twice, thinking he was so slick I wouldn't bust him after I'd already busted him.

BTW, I also want the total number of users shown on the bottom to be valid. If it says we have 700 users, by God, we have 700 actual, unique users, give or take a just a few.
