Vote: Should the Server Sections have a Server Leader?

Let me explain the issues:

I'm starting a new job on Monday and really don't know what to expect timewise, except it is unlikely I'll be able to goof off anywhere near as much as I could in my old job - at least not in the beginning. This means I'll have less time to spend on the boards, which I'm sure will be received as good news by many.

The problem is, when I go 6 to 8 hours without checking on things, sometimes they get a little nuts, porn gets posted, people start insulting each other using the N word, and other things that are in violation of Site Rules.

Even when I do have time to check the site, I usually don't have time to check more than the two or three server sections that I actively read.

The class sections have been working out so well with Class Leaders, I wanted to get the community's opinion on doing the same thing for the server sections.

If people want or don't mind having a Server Leader in charge of the server sections, my goal would be to pick one rational, even tempered person per server who can be trusted to do the right thing, whatever that might be in a particular situation. Those people would only have mod rights in their one server section, and any complaints about them could still be escalated to me and Niber. It would also have to be someone able to handle inevitable claims they were biased and doing things to benefit their guildmates at the expense of opposing guildmates. Obviously that wouldn't be tolerated, but you know it will be accused.

So, what do you think? Leave it as is, or put some people as Server Leaders in charge of each server section?

You decide. I'll leave this one active 5 days, this is an important vote, since this goes against what was originally planned for this site. However, this will make the site one step closer to being self administered, if you decide this is a good idea.

whereas i can pretty much see the idea of having a class leader. I dont think this is gonna work for a whole server.
The pple who are class leaders and were chosen because of their knowledge experience in their class (as well as general game) and because of that have the respect of their fellow class mates.
Somehow i dont see this working out for a server.
On the other hand some moderation form time to time is needed.

Moderation of the individual server forums will probably work best if it's not the moderator's home server, imo.

Instead of seeking a "Server Leader" for each forum, tap a handful of people you trust to be general moderators.

I voted no. Obviously some stopgap is needed, so I agree with Alvarez, in that you could perhaps have a few temporary moderators rather than 25 separate server moderators, and they could be randomly set to monitor a few server's forums.

I honestly think it would hurt more than help. It would be really hard IMO to find that many good mod's. But maybe you could find one or two willing to help out as mod's for all server's.

But in all honesty... it would be better to just have somone mod in different sections then the server they belong to more then likely if you REALLY need people to do it.

Yeah, I would think you could find a few people that could monitor 3-5 of the servers but not a server they are on.

Server discussion involves drama, class discussion involves mechanics. I don't think the per-server moderator idea will work unless you put weird requirements in as to who can moderate.

I think its a bad idea unless you plan on keeping a close watch on the actions of all of them. to make sure they dont pull a starry eyed elf... ever.

As long as a mod can not ban then it 'could' work because then if they did anything wrong the site users wouldnt let them get away with it cause they could simply PM you or Niber.
