I soft deleted it. It's still on the site and could be restored, it's just not in public view.

That is the only thread I've ever removed on this site that wasn't removed for an express rule violation or based on the posting guidelines (like in my Miss EQ2Flames thread, where I requested it to remain on topic in the first post and removed crude and offensive reply posts).

Why did I do it?

The thread itself is over 9 months old.

The person eventually sent me a polite PM, in which they explained that the post was causing problems for them in game and RL.

So I thought about it for awhile. The thread itself hadn't been mentioned in over six months. The person had been established, at worst, to be someone who'd had a sex change and typed in pink on the official forums. This person had never been accused of stealing a guild bank, ripping people off for money, tricking dudes into cybering with them, etc.

I felt like the request to remove the thread from view was justified by basic human decency. Everyone on this site who chose to do so had the chance to see it, point fingers, and laugh about it for a long time. I felt like enough was enough, and I soft deleted it as a matter of conscience.

I doubt I'll ever remove a thread like that again under these circumstances, this was a unique situation.

I've talked to the person and explained that if they choose to post here, it is at their own peril. I'll not be coming to anyone's rescue or editing or deleting any other posts on the subject. As I explained, anyone on this site is free to say and do anything not prohibited by the Site Rules. Also, I would restore the old post if anything from it was later disputed or intentionally put into play by the person.

So if you feel the need to flame the person more for being a transsexual, that's your choice, that isn't a prohibited subject on this site.

I suspect this person will be the subject of exceptional cruelty on this site if they continue to post here. However, I'm not going to deny them the chance to try and participate in this community if they choose to do so.

This is just my opinion, and like I said, there won't be any additional "rescues". But I think that taunting a person on the basis of sexual orientation is extremely low class. I think it is fair game to engage the person on the basis of being annoying and typing in pink. What you do is up to you - you have the freedom to start a new thread in rate-a-retard if you wish.

I'm not here to be a nuisance. I'm not here to be annoying. I'm not here to argue or kiss up either. I'm here to participate in forums that I sincerely enjoy and respect. I'm sorry if my real life offends anybody, but I am me. I can't and won't change that for anybody. I know I am eccentric - I shall try to keep my posts from being annoying out of respect for the comfortability of others. I just want to be able to enjoy the community, these forums, and the game itself. I understand flames will happen - everybody is entitled to their opinion as well as entitled to the right to express said opinion. But I will just say this... I'm not here to annoy anyone and I'm not here to fight.

I feel this was completely the wrong thing to do, deleting a thread because it doesn't have prevelence is basically saying I like this person and don't want them to get flamed, not to mention this sets a bad trend for what could happen in the future. With Winwin posting again this thread needs to be restored.

I missed the first post that revealed who you were but I don't see a problem with your lifestyle choice. In fact I think you show allot of courage but I've never been one to give a shit what people think about me so I can understand.

I remember how annoying your posts on the original forums were to me while I was still playing but whether you were male or female had no bearing on that they were annoying
