Nah, me and Victicus are cool, to the best of my knowledge. We had some heated issues on the SoE boards in the past, but I believe we were both in the same EQ guild at one point, right Vic?
I'm confident that Vic understands I've done everything possible to level the playing field here and create a place that is equally fair to all guilds.
I've also done everything possible to minimize bad acts by anon posters. The reason it has gotten somewhat quieter here with anon trolls and spammers recently is that I now ban ALL IP numbers (including proxys) of anon posters who try and use multiple accounts or violate the Site Rules. I had to ban over a half dozen complete and partial IP numbers for one guy alone.
I can't ban anon posters who only use one posting account and who follow the rules here, and Venekor is following the rules. Trying to make everyone identify themselves as a known player in a specific guild simply will not work, and any effort to require that would greatly limit the success of this site and the content provided by anon posters.
Also, if I tried to put a "no anon" prohibition in place, nobody from a guild or SoE would be able to leak quality inside info that can provide us with such great entertainment and real information. So I need to allow anon posters to post here, and I need to respect their privacy and not disclose their IP numbers except as stated in the Site Rules.
I'm hopeful Vic understands that Venekor is just a really hardcore fan of his guild, and that all successful guilds have fans. And as I've said before, if everyone in Aftermath went into their user profile and put Venekor on ignore (you can do that on this site, but not on the SoE forums), he would probably soon become a new fan of another guild.
