If I want to raid, should I re-roll?

I've taken a few months off from EQ but am planning to return with RoK. When I do, I will be looking for a raiding guild. However, looking through the recruitment needs of raid guilds I'm noticing a common theme: no one needs furies.

This doesn't surprise me, although it's a bit disappointing. So, should I start a new char or should I troll the recruitment pages of good raid guilds daily hoping to be the first, desperate fury in when they get an opening?

However, I respect your opinion as someone who knows raiding guilds. Can a small guild roster support two furies?

if they run 2 mage grp i would see a 2nd fury fitting in however raid guilds nowadays dont always run with a fury for the mage group , some like other type of healers better.

If you want to raid you might think of applying at a casual raid guild since they usually don't use specific setups for raids but just go with whomever signs up for them first.

Yes... A small guild would be better (IMHO) because they are looking for healing power vice the correct raid make-up. In my guild the make-up of the MA and MT and DPS/Mage group have required classes/roles... but there are spots where I can fill it with any healer... Larger raiding guilds will have much more specific requirements and may not be able to squeeze an additional Fury in.

Depends on the raid group, really. Some run a second fury in the melee DPS group for agitate/int buff for poisons when melee DPS is light.

the problem with that is optimally. 1 agitate and 4 vims are < inquisitor for melee. not to mention a fury gets nothing from a dirge which is what bard should be in that group where a melee priest class would see benfit.

yea...before raids you can put all int casters in a group and then let scouts go in there and have vim, illusionists temp. int buff and some other int casters buff the scouts when they apply their poisons and then move groups around...

LOL. I'm sorry but that shit does not work, and never has. Damage on procs is calculated when they go off, not when they are equipped/buffed/etc. I can't believe people are STILL believing that complete bullshit.
