Default Re: New Fury Ancient

Quick comments after having seen the stats/screenshots/etc., but not being in beta.

Ball of Lightning could have been done better, but most of the healers got pet-type persistent effects, and ours was damage, so that's probably decent. I can't comment on the amount of damage it does since I haven't really used it in those new tiers to gague it, but it seems mediocre in that it once again forces you into mele range.

From a PvP perspective I guess it's kinda nice, since it pumps out the dps to swashys, brigs, assassins, tanks, and anyone else that wants to get into mele range with you. With Ring of Fire and Ball of Lightning, plus your bristles line, it moves you a tad closer to wearing down your opponent(s) while healing. Then again, casting this clearly identifies you as a Fury, so it might just make you the first target in PvP anyway, which would be a bit counter-productive. But most end-game pvp'ers know who is what class most of the time anyway.

Still, Templars, Wardens, etc. seem to have gotten more utility than we did in our 80's, but at least we got something that goes with our theme and does damage, so I can't complain too much.

As for the set piece, I also dislike the Hibernate shortening time. In PvP my favorite part about it was being able to load up on stuff before going energy vortex without feeling guilty about slacking as a healer. Shortening this time definitely hurts us rather than helps us. Hopefully this gets changed ... or at a minimum gets taken out entirely.

I am not thrilled about the hibernate chage, but thus far for raiding I seem to have managed with it. I would not complain if there was a change though. As far as the ball of lightening, I would have liked to see a better effect with it, but I like the fact that it moves with you. I have tried it out a few times and previously it would just shoot in straight lines and go through walls where it was entirely useless, but as it stands now, there seems to be more use with it as opposed to before. (Not sure if before the straight line through the wall forever and ever was intended, but that is how it used to work, had to cast in a specific angle for efficiency).

On the bright side of things, you could have been stuck with Faerie Ally!
