Dirges seem to have better utility while furies have better healing. Is that balanced enough so they both do about equal dps while soloing?

One last thing. All the stats seem to benefit furies fairly well, but I'm not sure what to focus on as to not be too spread out. Would Int > Wis > Str be the way to go for combining melee damage with spells?

Nah, just enough Str for the Strongboxes really.

And yeah, I literally have just enough strength to carry stongboxes (not counting agitate)

I have never, in the time I've been playing, seen any bard even approach 2.5k on the parse. I do it with regularity.

oh it's doable... bards don't usually get any buffs though.
we get put in groups to be "the buffs".

you figure fury is usually slapped in the caster group, so you get all sorts of fun buffs from troubadours and mages. dirges usually get stuck with healers and a guardian in the mt group or non-buffing dps in an OT or dps group. granted, we see some buffs, but they're usually given to other classes first.

generally speaking, fury will do more damage, especially on multiple enemy fights. but, i think it's pretty competitive depending on the situation.

as far as soloing..... i'd stick with the fury.

I parsed 3800-4500 in TnT last night on the masterguardsman pulls.
If a dirge could do that now I would be amazed. And I am not "amazingly" geared.

dirges add dps to the entire group... so their parsing data isn't the true story

Yup im sure parses are written by assasins that want to pretend they are the ones causeing the damage, be nice to see a parse that gave the dirge the % of everyone elses damage thier buffs cause
