Fury Root is to mana intensive to use on the named your dpsing since we are dot class its just gonna break alot.
I used the slix approach, best power option if you dont want to try the full burn approach. Keep the pet rooted (Orinox will not cast another pet if one is up), and snare/kite the name which minimizes the amount you have to heal. Dot, and lightning bolt (fast cast) the name, and be sure to manage your EV... turn it off if you need to heal. Cast Ball lightning in the area you are kiting the name, that is good and constant damage on the name...

Some other items that coudl help... the 45 sec mez potions, tradeable on broker... they are from unrest, 5 uses per pop, with 6 second recast. Fireseeds from EH. Some equipment i used... on hostile cast, a stifle neck piece, the nazira ear piece (fear and snare). I put my SoS hat on, crown of the enlightenment (sp?) which has a 10% chance to stun emeny for 7 seconds if they hit you with mellee. Used hostile power proc cape, wrist, and afew other power proc items.

I used, 3 clarity potions, a necro heart, vessal, manastone, one power statis item, and one power root.

It was a tuff fight, think it lasted liek 7 minutes... The AA spec with full root and snare is definitely needed... the name and even the pet resist alot.

I have to say, even though it sucked we did not get our mythical right after drushhk, it was very very gratifying once you beat this name. It makes a nice climax ending to the questline.

He cures the snare/root, thats probly what you were experiencing. i first pulled the name was a 9 min fight, root snare nuke was able to kill pet and switch back to named since the pet has low hp, repeat. i went full dps gear while using soulsiphon gear and had around 60% power left when it died, i had no problems with it.

i think something people really have to consider as well is that for all intents and purposes this fight is not a raid, it is a solo encounter.

Gear setups should be adjusted acordingling...stun/stifle procs, ward/heal procs, power procs. and most definatley you might want to try wearing leather. Raiding gear setup are almost the exact opposite for this encounter than what you really need since most furies will be wearing full dps cloth. Wear a shield, even though it makes me want to puke.

I really see people who PvP often having absolutely 0 problems with this, but you really need to get into that mindset.

As previous people had posted, this encounter is most certainly solo-esque. If you have some issues with mana - heart/shard/clairty potions + manastone are the way to go.

I did this yesterday on my fury (which is a complete noob) With absolutely nothing but legendary instanced and quested gear (save the 1 thuuga item and VoES quested neck) ...no raid dropped gear... no masters... no miricals... the only issue I had was power, but clarity potions and manastone and animal form on the pet while the named is rooted is the way to go.

The only other thing (that people have mentioned) is the aas that enchance your snare and root ... and possible your self buff run speed aa... /nods

*edit* typos ftl

Did it on thursday night on the second pull. I redid my AA's with the AA card and screwed up and forgot to get EV which sucked. I still killed him in about 12 minutes with just animal form and root and nuke. Animal form on the pet and kept the main guy rooted and snared (with points in the root and nuke). I used both dots and thunderbolt on the named.

I finished this on Monday. I respec'd to the root line and did the whole snare/kite/root thing on the named and kept the pet rooted. I used a ton of various power clickies, so have all your roots, signets, manastone, hearts, shards, clarity potions etc. It took me about 15-20 min to kill him (not sure exactly on time as I couldn't merge the data in ACT for some reason) and I didn't have to heal too much since I took my time and kept the named away from me.

One thing though, I attempted to charm the pet with the status item from the city merchant. I was actually able to charm him and it took, but he kept beating on me for some reason even though he was my pet (my maintained spells bar indicated that he was charmed). Was kinda weird. Best thing is to just keep the pet rooted.

i would like to add that if you are having power issues i would suggest getting karana diety and getting Blessing of Serenity. It gives you 1 % power every 6 secs for 100 ticks, last 10 mins. You should not have any power issues with this blessing.

Quellios also has a good miracle for filling up power quickly and you can do the whole quest line for it solo in a couple hours or less.
