Yes I love being able to out dps all other healers. But why the fuck have a fury when 1) a templar can do as much healing and has better buffs 2) brings more dps to raid because they them self brings more dps to a group. or have a fury who is a wanna be dps class that is wasting a spot in the raid.
I rather lose a little dps or keep our dps the way it is and make Fae Immolations all attacks spell attacks brings us dps by doing this and also gives us a small untility and something that is want by the mages. then give us an AA that adds 2-3 more trigers to it.
The furys that are in hardcore guild are lucky they got in when they did because finding a hardcore guild who wouldn't take another type of healer over a fury is far and few between

Don't all mages have their own arcane cure, not to mention cure pots are usually a must while doing avatars. What about an encounter that has Elemental or Noxious cures?
I haven't met a templar on my server that can heal as much as me, pound for pound especially dealing with AE damage. I wonder if a templar can get a mage group to green from an AE as fast as a fury can? Their cast times are horrible and their group reactive is like peanuts when your dealing with an AE that does 4-6k damage or a percent based AE.
Sanctuary can be supplemented by Tortuise Shell since AEs aren't direct damage on anyone except the MT.
I like your idea about Fae Immoliation though, that would be sweet.
To summarize, it really doesn't matter what a mage wants in their group. A raid leader's job is to make his raid survive and dps thrive and they can't when they are dead. Pulling a good fury out of your raid force effectively makes the raid lose 3-5.5k dps that can also turn around and heal for 1.5-2k hps when needed on some fights to gain what from a templar? The Wizard in my guild is starting to push 11-12.5k on some fights in my group with a standard mage group setup. Essentially all your doing is replacing the furies dps that you lose with the same amount of dps gained from a templar along with slower healing and increased amount of hit points.
Edit: On an Avatar fight, ask furies who they think should get Time Compression, just because someone prefers something doesn't mean they get it.
