Re: Help with DPS
As a guideline, to help give you an idea what everyone is talking about, with most of those items they've mentioned, I now sit at 99% dmg crit self buffed, and Im doing 3.5k-4.5k avg on trash with spikes almost at 6k. Infusion CAN be a large portion of your dmg, in my breakdowns it typically is around 30%, which is the largest chunk, Lightning Bolt being close at around 28%. Now, I might get some argument from the others on this, but I actually do not cast Starshower in my dps rotation. Yes, its M2, but Ive found my dps actually go up 500-600 by taking it out. The damage it does in relative to the time it takes to cast wasnt worth it. Infusion for me can do up to 7k off of one heal, so I concentrated more on that.
Some ideas during raids.. try to time your EV for when the troub casts potm for the highest spikes. Also, see if you can get the Illy to sneak you a tandem. That'll be tough, but if they like you it might work, lol. Also, if you havent noticed in any of the ranting on here, if you have the Ring of Rage, dont bother counting on its effects. Some easy items to go get, just from questing are the Fish Embroidered Gloves, quest in KJ, and the dmg crit charm item in Everfrost.

you can use ring of rage, just be careful with what you cast for infusion dps

Re: Help with DPS
Thats true, I guess if you only cast things like Fae, Cheetah, etc.. it would be fine. But, that sounds like a lot of work for me.

A little off topic but around the same lines: I'm actually having trouble with melee. I find that if I have auto attack on, my DPS always drops around 300 - 500. I've tested this with act - solo, in groups, and on raids - and have the same issue every time. It's gotten to where I don't bother meleeing at all, but I've seen no other furies mention this problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions to what I may be doing wrong? Perhaps it's my spell rotation? I just don't see how it could be causing this big of a difference.

try hittin immo right the mob's pulled & then soon as u or the mob gets in range hit ur aa line melee. it's a quick extra dmg hit that turns on auto attack. the just nuke ur butt off. immo will be back up when ur outta nukes so u can hit it for the extra boost for auto attack while waitin for nukes & the infusion proc. helps ur timing a bit better than turnin on auto attack separately for each mob.

Re: Help with DPS
Personally, I just added an /autoattack 1 macro to my nukes. Well it's not like pushing the autoattack button is especially hard though...!
The only way I can see you losing dps by autoattacking is maybe it takes you too long to get in the right position to melee the mob, so you're running around trying to find range for the first 5-10 sec of the fight or something.
With practice, you'll get the hang of it and you'll start knowing the different melee range for every mob (ie. Silverwing vs globules thingers etc)

Re: Help with DPS
Since they now let you buff while moving, I think it might be smart to run in behind the mob while casting SoW or something to get some infusion damage on the move. Not raided with my fury in ages, but can't see why it wouldn't work...

Re: Help with DPS
I typically stand within infusion range of the MT, and hibernate and fae to get the infusion dmg on the pull without drawing direct nuke agro.

Re: Help with DPS
usually you want to be with the tank that way right before he pulls you can cast sunrise and ball of lightning waste of time unless you get it right before the tank pulls so never slack. no reason to slack anymore since you can buff while moving. only mobs I don't start standing on the tank is names and VP trash that have an AOE frontal.
