OK... I'm another Fury that went from full-time healing to DPSing while healing. We don't raid a ton and we are a family style guild which doesn't allow for optimum raid setup. So I don't get the luxury of a troubie or illy in my group. I'm only putting out around 1.3-1.8K DPS. Is this about right with no decent DPS buffs? I use the following:

Vail of Hallowed +100 power
Mistmores Cloak +2 spell crit, +2 melee crit
Wayword Moon Tunic +50 spell dmg
Wayword Moon Shoulders (this 3rd piece addes +75 spell dmg)
Klyseer Bracelets +60 spell dmg, -2% on cast time of hostile spells
Hidious Mitts +2 splee crit, +60 spell dmg
Silten Sand Sash +2 spell crit, +45 spell dmg, -1% on cast time of hostile spell
Wayword Moon Leggings +2 spell crit
Phanton Boots of the Waste +120 spell dmg
Rilissian Essance Vial Necklace -2% on cast time of hostile spells, +12 dps
Force Hoop +1 spell crit, +120 spell dmg
Sarnak Bone Hoop +100 spell dmg
Signet of Thuuga (nothing special to damage)
Ring of Rage +4 spell crit
Armlets of Misgiving +50 spell dmg, -3% pwr cost to all spells
Will-bender of Drudhai-kha +2 spell crit, +80 spell dmg
Danak Wishbone +50 spell dmg
Brooch of the Snowchurner +1 spell crit, +20 spell dmg
Book of Immortals -5% pwr cost to all spells
Orb of Oblivion +60 spell dmg, -2% on cast time of hostile spells
Wrath of Nature +65 spell dmg

My base attack is 1,083 (1212 modified).... what type of attack is this referring to????

My INT is @ 1097 and Spell crit @ 52% buffed.

Here are my specs.....

P.S. I've run CoA over 200 times and never even SEEN Armguard of the Farseer drop. I've run VoES about 100 times and only seen Praetor's Guard drop in once and they wouldn't let me roll on it.

base attack is melee. coupla pieces id try to go for instead:

bp - sandblasted jerkin from sandstorm in mc
hat - fuschia finery from drusilla
shoulders - symbol of the eaten from the shark in jw or the leather shoulders from the kc quest to kill xalgoz
cloak - mc with 2% base dmg
bracelets - tormented bracelet of doom from doom in kj, protectors rune band from pr, usla's bangle from re2
legs - firefury leggings from seb
ring - burdened signet from coa
symbol/ranged - mc orb (i honestly think farseer's overrated. mc orb gives 2 crit & 50 dmg), gassy scepter from re2, pg

fury aa's - max out killing swarm, only need 3 points in typhoon really, max out ring of fire
druid aa's - try this for str 4-4-4-8 or 4-4-8-4 & int 4-4-8-7-1, upping ur casting skills will help u to not get resisted as much so ur nukes will do more dmg. the extra points in int should be able to be compensated for with int adorns & the dps gear that has higher int anyway, along with group buffs.

Thanks AJ. I'll use my mirror and try spec'ing out the way you recommended. I was just looking at the Symbol of the Eaten but there is only 1 pair on the market and they are 84p!! Some of the other items I've seen drop regularly. I'll let you know how things go in next raid with this spec.

Default Re: Help with DPS

I've been reading this thread and others for tips to up my dps since there isn't much quality info on the SOE forums. I keep hearing about Furies doing 6k-7k dps, and here I am only doing 2k sometimes in the 3k range dps. So after adjusting some equipment around, and fixing my casting order a bit I decided to experiment during a raid on one of the new zones (on trash mobs). My group didn't need much of any healing other than Hibernate and Untamed Regeneration, and I timed them to add Infusion DPS. I took Starshower out of my lineup and saw a dramatic increase in my DPS. When I slacked off a bit, I was doing in the mid to upper 3k range. When I was trying and didn't have to do extra healing, I was reaching 4k with a peak at around 4.3k. It's still no 6k-7k, but it's a hell of a lot better than 2k-3k. I found that with the Illy in my group (sadly we had no Troub) my Infusions were doing around 1k per proc so on a group spell like hibernate were hitting for 6-7k. Infusion did around 25% of my overall damage, and Lightning Bolt (M1) did 26%. I was using the Shiny Metallic Robe and Dark Mail Gauntlets, and it was especially nice when they both proc'd before Dispatch while Vortex was up. So, thanks for the tips, it's been a help.

You have to understand alot of the people who can parse 6-7k dps are extremely well geared. For example I in my Dps spec have 106% spell crit and 800+ spell mod my gear still needs some work for example I currently wear no Greater Void Bane items and my spell mod is much lower than I would like also I don't have Blackened Band of Devestation. Some single items can contribute to Dps greatly and aa and gear cause a huge increase in dps. When I was poorly geared my thunderbolts max hit was around 13k now my average hit is 15-17k and sometimes spikes 22-25k. The best advice I can give is make gear macros you want to have a hybrid set that has your best dps and heal peices, a heal set, a dps set, and sometimes a power set for mobs like byzola or tythus. Also don't always believe fabled = better i still wear some legendary in some macro sets that have a better blue stat that fabled Force Hoop is a good example usually cheap on the market and gives a 125 spell mod for your ear slot which is very hard to find something comparable to that in raid gear.

Especially considering they just recently took off most spell damage on TSO raid gear, even though most people are capped for crit and need spell damage .

some of loot are easy to get like:
Phantom Boots of the Wastes(feet)---on broker
Force Hoop(ear)---on broker
Bloodthirsty Choker(neck)---SOF last named
Wilderness Warrior's Shoulderpads(shoulder)---shard set
Drape of the Void-Touched(Cloak)---Palace of Ferzhul first named

I still use these easy get gear as my dps set
These should give some help
