Hello all. I am a Fury on Everfrost and I typically parse between 5-8k on the majority of fights while raiding in most of the T8 zones.
My DPS gear is nothing spectacular per se as like many others I focused primarily on being a healer first and decided to push my DPS later. Its mostly legendary rubbish that I could pick up cheaply and easily with some fabled pieces from raiding mixed in. My healing gear is far better quality.
My eq2players profile is:
EverQuest II Players - Profile for Kalissia
I have 200 AA, my spell crit is usually around 101%-107% depending on what gear i swap out and my spell dmg mod hovers between 900-1000 (
which is optimal for us).
I am primarily M1'd out on DPS spells with the exception of Sunrise which i do not use much on raids anyway -- I prefer Ball Lightning M1 since it does more damage, is faster casting, is not totally stationary (
plus it counts as a hostile spell unlike Sunrise which counts as a beneficial spell).
In fights I know I can DPS safely (
ie. very little healing needed or a 2nd group healer) I will:
a) Wear all my DPS gear, plus a bloodthirsty choker (
which I dont use while soloing so it may not show in my profile)
b) Activate the TSO Litany of Combat, Master of Storms (
dps stance) and Infusion
c) I typically cast Blood Sacrifice [ring of rage] followed by either Intimidation [
small resistance debuff, safe] or Starfall M2 [
large damage, not as safe] during the tank pull -- unless the raid leader orders no actions on pull
d) I will then move in to melee range with auto-attack on to take advantage of the Illusionist and/or Mystic mythical power proc.
e) I will usually start my spell order with Hibernation (prepping for group choker damage) and follow with Ball Lightning during the first few seconds of the fight. However, if the fight is going to be short then I will often skip Ball Lightning.
f) Then I use: Lightning Bolt, Master Strike (if applicable), Heroic Opp., Death Swarm, Tythoon, Hibernate (if up), Wrath of Nature, Heroic Opp., Death Swarm, Typhoon, Lightning Bolt, etc. I will sometimes slip in Starfall if I have a gap in my spell order for whatever reason (usually dont have to). Every 30 secs or so i will re-cast Blood Sacrifice unless I need to heal strongly.
g) If group incoming damage gets heavy then I slip in Untamed Regeneration between Hibernates and if necessary my fast single heals. I try to avoid Autumn's Kiss when DPS'ing unless absolutely needed.
Basic rules I follow are:
1. Always cast Lightning Bolt whenever its up. This is your biggest damage by far.
2. Always keep Hibernate running at all times. This should take care of choker and most other incidental damage. Plus it procs Infusion.
3. Your 2nd biggest spells are Death Swarm and Typhoon. Always cast Death Swarm first and Typhoon second and keep both ticking as much as possible.
4. Use the Heroic Opportunity trigger: It's extra damage, sometimes a nice casting buff and procs Infusion plus various other procs (both hostile and beneficial).
5. If your lucky enough to have a 2nd healer in your group place your mythical buff on them while DPSing to reduce the amount of healing you potentially have to do.
6. Using Starfall on single targets will usually *reduce* your DPS vs single targets compared with using your single target spells. Use it selectively (eg. during a pull or vs fire weak mobs). However, ALWAYS use it (and Wrath of Nature) on any size group.
6. Infusion (while useful) is not the best way to put out DPS. I rarely cast spells just to proc Infusion. Its very inefficient and most of your other spells will do better DPS for far less power. 9/10 times for me Infusion procs off Hibernation, Untamed Regeneration, Heroic Opp., Blood Sacrifice, or when i cure people.
7. If you find your-self with too many "idle" gaps in your DPS spell order then invest in some gear with hostile spell recovery (aim for around 15-30% from gear). Litany and DPS stance will help in this area also.
Remember though that your DPS is heavily dependant on your group and raid setup:
My guild is kind enough to nearly always place me in a group with an Illusionist, Troubadour and Wizard (which is an optimal setup for us) so I am able to put out some good numbers without running too low on power as long as I auto-attack and utilise my mana stones/shards/hearts/potions. If not in my optimal group I usually do on average 1k less DPS and run out of power faster.
Magical debuffs are also very important (we ALWAYS run with at least one Brigand, Troub, Coercer, Dirge).
