Re: WTF is with TSO Fury Gear?
The Fury shard sets are crap. No way will I go to a melee spec. I'll be saving my shards for when they are heirloom and I can put them on my Troub.

Re: WTF is with TSO Fury Gear?
I agree it's total crap and I'm heal specced. I did the math and I'd only gain maybe 6 heal crit, 105 heal amount, 35 wisdom and I'd lose 160 power if I went with the complete Tier 2 void armor over my Quested Legendary gear from Jarsath Wastes and a few legendary drops from RoK instances. Pathetic, really pathetic. Spending the shards on my Monk instead.

No wonder why so many people think furies can't heal, if you don't know how good the tso druid set is for healing you are obviously missing something.

Re: WTF is with TSO Fury Gear?
This latest statement from Fyreflyte really does not sound promising.

Unfortunately the problem here resides much less in gear design and more in class design. Fury is the only leather user that wants +spell damage and thus it is impossible to create general purpose sets which suit them. They'd have to have their own special set of armor created, which I typically do not have time for (this requires a lot of extra work in the case of mob dorps since it requires setting up special loot tables as well).
We're working on some mechanics changes to try and alleviate this situation and make the gear more generally useful to both Furies and Wardens. I can't say much about this just yet, but I am aware of the issue and would like to get it fixed. I don't mean to leave classes out, it's just very difficult to always find time to design special sets for the few particular classes that can't use the general stats that everyone else can.

WOW....sooo instead of taking the time to add say....spell crit/spell amount to gear they are gonna change the mechanics of our class..... is that what im reading?
Hi i Hate SoE some days...leveling my illy up looks like it might become more of a priority, if they change the way my fury currently does dps, cause fuck meleeing im not a fucking warden.

Re: WTF is with TSO Fury Gear?
Bye bye fury class?
"Q: Since Furys are a hybrid class, is there any chance we might see some Spell Crit added to the T2 (and coming T3) Void Shard Wilderness armor set?
A: These pieces of gear already have an overabundance of stats and effects on them, so adding yet another bonus may not be the best solution. We’re aware that Furies are lacking in a good offensive shard set, and we’re considering a couple of different ways to rectify this. We’ll be sure to point it out in the release notes when I work it out. "
Couldn't they just turn the wizard/warlock set into leather armor? bam now furies have a dps alternative. Rather than overhaul the entire class...

Since that sounds like what they mean, and if it turns out that it is what they mean then I may just give up EQ2 and go back to EQ1 for good. Druids were more fun there.
The mere idea that "we keep giving this one class shitty gear, so lets just revamp the class" is so freaking asinine it very well could drive you to insanity if you attempt to make sense of it.
That's like instead of replacing the one shingle on the roof with the hole in it you just punch holes in the rest of the shingles. "there now they all match".

Re: WTF is with TSO Fury Gear?
they are just going to get rid of heal/spell crit and make it all one, probably the same with +spell and +heal main difference will be special effects

Sounds more like this:

This one is a bit more complex. Right now we have 5 types of criticals, Melee, Ranged, Heal, Spell, and Taunt criticals. Instead of having so many different critical types we would move to one generic critical chance. Take rangers for example. We need to create a certain amount of Ranger specific items to appeal to their effect needs. However, if you are grouping or raiding and your ranger has these items already then the item is often deemed as worthless. This also solves a number of other problems like introducing Taunt criticals, itemizing properly for bards and crusaders and a whole host of other issues.
From there we would likely adjust critical multipliers down to one generic effect as well. We could then balance classes by role so that they have higher base crit mults for their specialties instead of everyone using a 1.3 base. For example healers get a higher heal crit mult than everyone else. Rangers get the highest ranged mult, etc. This will obviously take some planning and I stress its just an idea right now so nothing to get too worked up over.
We would then continue to consolidate effects where it makes sense like double attack and ranged double attack. Other things might include base damage increasers and +damage increasers.
