Cham in agi line, please explain

Yesterday i put a point into the charm in agi line.

I tried to charm things a couple lvls below me and the only way i could do it is if i turned off nearly all my buffs because it said not enough concentration?

Is this normal or if i put 4 to 8 points in the charm skill will this stop happening? I thought putting more points into charm only increases duration...

Not sure it would be worth the charm if you have to sacrafice all your buffs

?

ps i solo and group equally... what level would you try to get the charm by? someone told me you need it by the time you hit kos or rok or something because you cant fight face to face with the mob as well?

The charm sucks. Getting higher levels of it just decreases the chances that it will randomly dispell. I only put 4 ranks into it so I could get 8 in Wild Regeneration. Last time I checked it doesn't work on any heroic mobs, so it's never worth using in a group at the cost of buffs. The charm always uses 3 concentration.

In RoK it has limited usefulness. When I was doing the Fens and JW questlines charming an animal could sometimes make things a little easier, but that was mostly because my gear sucked at the time, and I didn't yet have the M1 root.

Maybe with the Litany of Combat TSO AA it would make it a little more worthwhile for soloing, but I kinda doubt it.

Right now I have charm animal maxed, and I am able to charm ^^^ heroic critters. I usually duo with my wifes brigand, there have been many time were charm animal has helped? but we aren't geared super uber and don't spend tons of cash on getting masters.
