Default Re: TSO Parses/High Hits

I've never paid too much attention to my high hits with Najena ring. I have seen an occassional 32k LB, dunno if anything has hit much harder. The other spells I didn't even look at. I find it impressive to get Tempest to hit 20k though, I'll want to go back and look through my parses now to see if mine have hit near that. I tried parsing on training dummies since the greater void bane and general proc nerf and its hard to break 6k now. Kind of a bummer but I guess I can agree it may have been a little OP before.

As for void palace trash I find it difficult to break 8k zonewides now. I never get UT TC or Tandem but before it was very easy to get 9k-10k ZW, probably more I didn't really pay much attention. I remember back then it seemed like greater void bane was like 25% of the parse though.

I am wondering if my lower dps is a result of the proc nerfs or because the fights don't last as long anymore due to the higher raid dps. Seems like before my dps would creep higher and higher as the fight went on because every LB that hit would drag it upward. It may also be that I just got rusty not paying too much attention to my dps. I do know I used to break 12-13k all the time but now I rarely get over 10k.

Has anyone else seen a similar decrease in dps, or are you guys still going up?

I was also wondering about the tempest and death swarm hits, how is that even mechanically possibly?

Well he said it was with the najena temp buff. that with energy vortex and dispatch+other debuffs I can see the first hits going that high. I have still never really watched to see though, I only really watch for LB high hits, it is fun when they go over 30k.

The Najena's ring maximises spell damage..

So with something that has a high BoE cap such as Lighting bolt or whatever, the more powerful the ring becomes

Combine that with dispatches and tash's and what not you can hit really hard...

Imagine a double-spell'd ice comet with max spell damage... its not even fair

I can understand spells like lb and ice comet since their spell range is much higher, obviously the ring will have a big effect on them, but spells like death swarm??? I don't play my fury that often anymore so I'm not that familiar with the numbers, but even with 100% base spell damage, death swarm being very generous would be 2000-2200 damage, max spell damage 3000-3300, fully debuffed mob 6000-6600, crit with 20 crit bonus 9600-10560. Again I was being very generous with the numbers, so 10k MAY be possible, but still highly unlikely and he hit over 17k with it. All the other parses here death swarm max hits are ~3300, the najena ring isn't going to bring that to 17k it just isn't mechanically possible unless I am missing something here.

*Edited to add. Looking at wizard forums big spells like ice comet and fission get about a 33% inc from the ring which is in line with our lightning bolt, how is it that death swarm is getting a nearly 600% increase?

Good follow up serum. At this point I think it may be possible that that number is a sum of all the ticks, which is slightly misleading. Not positive though, but laying out the numbers as you did it does seem unlikely that this is the initial hit.

Most of the time it hits for 2400 - 3000 initially but for some reason I got two random spikes for 17k and 12k initially.

The ring affects DoTs in a weird way. Instead of applying it to every tick of the DoT, it applies all of the extra damage you would have gotten from the DoT to the first hit, that way you don't have to worry abot the ring running out mid-DoT. This leads to the initial hit of the DoT being massive compared to its normal damage. That's how I understand it anyways.
