it's a temporary pet that radiates magic dmg from it. it hovers around u & moves really slow. not sure of the dmg of the ad3 as compared to the m1 though honestly.

Adept III has a damage spread of about 400-600. M1 has a spread of ~500-900.

The spell will almost never crit. It's not based off your crit, but rather the pet's own base 1% crit. It pulses every 1.5 seconds for the above damage, making it a lot more useful than Sunrise (2 seconds per pulse for ~200-300 damage at M1).

The one negative I've noticed with Ball Lightning, other than the slow cast, is that it can be killed in AoE fights.

Really??? Hmm. Does this mean that you never cast Starshower?
I sure would miss the 10-15k hits from it on single mobs. Even better when it hits multiple mobs...

I'm sure he/she probably means the indescriminate AOE's which I agree are a total waste of time unless you have more than five un-linked mobs or are power leveling another class. Otherwise the damage output versus time it takes to cast (not to mention if you use the one that stuns) is retarded.

I'm not debating the guys newbness. I don't even care. His statement is true in my eyes.

While the fire carpet doesn't ever seem to do much damage, whether cast on a single target or multi mobs. This could be a lack of elemental debuffs at times in my raid makeup though.

Ball Lightning does do decent damage on a well debuffed mob. Of course, the more mobs the better as long as the non debuffed mobs in the encounter aren't resisting every hit.

Spending the aa points to increase spell damage and having gear/temporary spells/clicky effects with base damage increasers make them good spells to cast. Especially when they are able to run for their duration.

Being stifled to cast Call of Karana, well, I usually have to cure and heal too much to bother with this one. But as seen by the parse posted by Resurrect, it can be used effectively.

I would definitely not classify our aoe spells as garbage. Situational at times, but certainly not garbage.

If it is a single mob, it would probably be to 70% before you even finish casting Ball Lightening. Thats 30% that a fury is twittling their thumbs while the rest of the raid does DPS. So garbage for a single mob.

Two or three epic mobs - Maybe worth the time in the long run if your raid tank isn't shitty and can keep aggro better than a cricket on prozac. However ball lightening will still parse under any other non-indescriminate spell you cast (i.e. the aoes still suck compared to everything else).
