Neither of those are true (Inquisitors neither out heal nor out DPS Furies), but better HP buffs and group reactives mean significantly less DPSers getting one-shotted by AOEs. Plus Inquisitors are beasts for curing and have significantly better DPS buffs.
I love my Fury, but Inquisitors are miles ahead as DPS group healers at the moment. When I got stuck filling in as a healer for six months, it was my Inquisitor the guild wanted despite the fact that I was more comfortable healing on my Fury, which I'd had since late DoF, and that I had leveled up the Inquisitor as a soloing side project. I did manage to sneak my Fury into an occasional raid (though I did get shot down on numerous occasions), but most of my Fury's raid time has come as a back up raider for other guilds.
I'm not sure which makes our scouts more sad these days, though, the fact that they don't have my Inquisitor healing them anymore, or that my Conjuror is crushing them on the parse.
