Default Re: Healing

See with me if there is noone to heal I'm doing dps, curing, debuffing ect. I hate anytime I'm not doing something on raid to help. But no I don't agree with patching people that are 80% in other groups and such like that. But I don't think since druids are the best at patching that a druid that is concentrating only on their group...not matter what the fight..is a waste of space in the raid. Say the 2nd named in IS. I normally have no problem keeping myself busying curing and patching while the adds are up..then when down I switch more to dps. The fury I was speaking of managed to break 4% on the healing parse on that fight. Yeah his group would have died without the outside help it recived from other healers. Honestly imo having someone like that on raid is a complete waste of a spot.

Plus with any class it's a huge pet peeve of mine when you don't play your class to the fullest. Get out of a raiding guild and join a family guild if your going to waste the skills you were given.

What gets me is there WERE some raid leaders in my guild who really had no idea of the potential the Fury character has. He had some cockamamie notion that a Fury is a healer. Period. WHILE we do have some great heals and such, curing, debuffing (while lame compared to other classes), we can fill in with DPS while there's no major hits to the MT or group.

I and my guild leader (who has a fury alt) set him straight one evening as I went DPS using Energy Vortex on trash mobs in Labs. After the parser came up, we had him convinced that Furies have quite a bit more to offer than JUST heals.

If I'm the only healer in my group, which I often am, heals will always come first. When there's no healing needed, I'm gonna nuke. Simple.

Furies are just such a great class to play imo. So much stuff we can do. I just really adore playing my fury.

New to these forums but long time player. I started my Fury alt on 3/13/07 and am lvl59 now.
I feel that a furies job is not just healing. There are many situations that can change your role.
1. are you the only healer
2. Is the other healer either higher lvl or a plate healer
3. are your heals stronger such as Adepts 3 or Master against Adept 1's

If (1) then heal first cure second debuff third and dps final
If (2) then debuff and cure first dps second and heal when needed
If (3) then Heal first make sure that the other healer is curing and debuffing and dps when ever possible.

This is just how I play my Fury. Every spell of mine is no less then Adept 3 to be a good healer and play your correct role you need the best spells to do it.

Default Re: Healing

as a fury who loves to show up on DPS parse, i must admit it's addicting as hell to nuke.
usually on trash pulls i will just DPS and see what i can do, much to other healers displeasure. but i only do this when i know as a fact my heals are not needed and no one will die lol... usually on heal parse i will be 3rd if im in MT group..(warden not in raid or whatever) if im in mage group i will dps a lil bit usually, hibernation up and nuke dot nuke dot blah blah blah... spec'd for heal crits and spell crits end abilites for int and sta... tortoise shell was ok, but i hate being stunned..

always feels better to save lives though. i enjoy the healing over the dps cause hey, anyone can make a dps class- thats what most bots are anyways..right?-
healing is where it's at, and furies do it pretty well when we wanna.

you realize you can toggle the ability so you really only need to be stunned maybe 5 sec at a time.

why yes widem, yes i do. but being stunned for 5 seconds is still being stunned correct? lol im just stating i dont like being stunned...

though there are many occasions where the shell would be more helpful fo sho!

I still stand by hibernate and probably always will. If you utilize the AA line you can pretty much keep your group up through anything, minus the aggro pulling mage that suddenly has an avatar directly targetting them.

I rotate continuously. I always start with hibernate, to have that contingency just in case something goes wacky on the pull. I RoF if I can, and always put up fae flames, and always debuff. nuke. I spot heal and continue to keep hibernate up. nuke.. More heals. Rinse and repeat. Of course I cure as needed. Coordinating nukes with debuffs and group procs is a big bonus as well, if you can time it appropriately.

This thread seems to now be a mix of healing / nuking. Time compression if you can get it... good lord. The last couple of raids I've had i. I thought I'd been doing nice dps. With TC it's like... something I could formerly only have dreamed of. Quite addictive.
