Default Healing

When I'm raiding on my fury....I patch heal like crazy..while of course keeping my group up. I recently ran across a raiding fury that believed it was only their job to keep their group up and cured and nothing else. I was pretty put out by this..considering I patch other groups so often not to mention curing out of group if a notice a effect staying on someone to long. Even on AE fights you would see him almost at bottom of the heal parse. Where as I find on AE fights it's hard to get any lower then 3rd as a druid if your helping keep everyone up. Anyway I know to each their own on how to play their class...but what do you all think..how do you play your fury on raids?

Busily...if I'm not healing, I'm curing, if I'm not curing, I'm debuffing, if I'm not debuffing, I'm nuking. Fae Pyre, Hibernation, Beastial Feast, etc.

You said if someone needs a cure out of group - other than the obvious signs like floaties around someone or having them call it in chat/vent to cure - do you have a UI that allows you to see things on people outside your group? That'd be nifty...

Oh I would love a UI like that. Nah mostly it's just from doing a raid enough that you know what's hitting people. Like if you see someone running away...cure their fear...then call them a pussy for running. I'm obsessed with curing...one of my big pet peeves is healers that don't cure. I had a friend that was grouped with a druid that said he wasn't curing because he cured everything at the end of battle. I wanted to punch him in the nuts.

If anyone knows of a UI that does show negative effects on raid members I would love love love it.

Default Re: Healing

On trash fights, I usually go all out DPS because my group doesn't require too much healing. Hibernation and an occasional group heal are usually sufficient to keep everyone in my group up. Of course, if any other group healers are behind or something flaky happens, I stop nuking and start healing.

On named fights, I go into full heal mode and I do help out healing / curing other groups. We shine as group and spot healers, so for a Fury to say he/she doesn't bother helping with other groups boggles me. If the other healers don't need help, that's one thing, but I can think of very few named fights where I don't help out spot healing other groups.

There isnt going to be a right or wrong answer to this. this question is based off so many things that between your guild and the encounter there are limitless possibilities and situations. The key here simply being presense of mind. First and foremost you need to heal, but you should also be able to rely on other healers to do their job. There are many times where i can beat out one of the slower healers by a split second, but this doesnt help the raid at all.

Quick rundown of my pov. this is how we roll with regards to healers in groups

inq-mages and scouts
warden, defiler, temp - mt
temp mystic - off tank
fury - mages and scouts

when doing trash burn burn burn...u dont wanna sit on your ass on a friday night so get it over as fast as possible. you dont need to freak everytime someone hit 80% just always have hibernate up and it will do the job. other healers will have their guys covered.

epic fights with no adds and just aes...burn burn burn hibernate group heal ftw

epic fights with adds and aes...burn burn burn, off tank heals, hibernate, group heals

avatars with the stun stifle reactive...if you are trying to do damage imo you are dumb b/c stifling or stunning yourself is pretty ballzy as a healer.

I always think of it as me being a fury i have 100% of resources to use. If i can get thru the fight with only using 25% of my time healing there is no reason to spend 75% watching to spot heal. Im wasting what else i can bring to the raid.

Know whats going on around you. If a healer dies your job just completely changed until he is ready to take back over. Dont be afraid not to heal if its not necessary. if all you can muster for an encounter is 400dps thats better than 0 dps.

This is where I think the dividing line is between the good furies and the bad. Anyone can heal, but if there is ever a time where you as a fury are sitting there doing nothing you're ignoring one half of your class.

well i think a lot of the other healing classes have ignored a lot of their offensive abilities as well there isnt one healer in my guild that cant do more than 1200dps when they need to. people act like furies are the dps godsend but other classes can do it also even while spending more time on healing ie damage crits from auto attack.

im pretty sure the fury class is the only one that doesnt get melee crit lines which even gives us a big disadvantage in that department.

True, any healer can do some kind of dps, most just choose not to for whatever reason, etc. In fact I would say that other healer classes can do decent damage "for free" by way of melee crits and auto attack as you said. There's always something to do, whether it be damage, healing, cures, w/e... Most players just choose to ignore everything they could be doing, with the mindset of "as long as people stay alive who cares if I add 1.2k dps to the raid, I'm a healer", which is wasteful.

Yar we got fucked on melee crits =/ but I think if we had them people would scream nerf.

yeah was more commenting on that people who think furies are just overpowered are stupid. its just more obvious how to spec and is dependable on masters rather than weapons.

Indeed. Sometimes it would be nice to grab a really nice 2 hander and do good damage for pressing ~ though.
