    Default Frustrated....need help

Hi guys, I've been playing my Fury for a bit over a year now and have followed Elhonna and Widem's advice for setting up AAs and such and my HPS/DPS still is horrible. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, can someone take a look at my sig eq2u profile and maybe it's something I've set up wrong?

As for my playstyle, I heal/cure/dps. I'm usually in a Mage group who also like to stand toe to toe so I'm able to get into Melee range on almost all fights with the exception of the ones where you need to joust and such.

On raid fights, I go in with Wrath of Nature, CoS, Raging Whirlwind, and hope for another COS reset. I thought I was doing good until I installed ACT and saw how sucky my numbers were.

Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to hold my groups back.

    Thanks,

    Anyaah

I just bought a few things off the Drinal's steward guy (head/chest/2h) so need to reforge and adorn those in case you were wondering about those in my eq2u.

i'm no pro - my fury is my raid alt so i don't get him in a x4 too often but here's a couple things i see:
<disclaimer> you mentioned meleeing - i am not nor never have nor will be a melee fury - too many awesome ranged things to risk getting up close as a squishy imo. so if that's your goal, just ignore me now.

druid tree bottom line - the damage reduction from wild protection isn't much, but every little bit helps. i'd take that over the 6 points u put in strength tree
in your fury tree, bottom line, 5 points in awakening - this buffs hibernation heal, which should always be up
heroic tree - 10 points in druidism - take howling as end line - these two things are huge, howling is the single greatest spell a fury gets, effect immunity and conversion of dps into group heal
prestige - i've never tried dual lining, but have really liked the right line - on a good aoe fight stormbearer's fury is great - it is cast while running and a nice offensive group heal if it hits max targets

hopefully some one else speaks up to confirm/refute my advice, but when i do make it to raid on my fury i don't have too bad a time solo healing a mage group and kicking out some dps along the way. i hope this helps, fury is a great class that i've found really fun to play

Aim for 600% Multi Attack and get in melee every chance u get. Spell weapon multi/dps works well for reforging.

Other than that it's mostly gear.

I just had a quick look over your stats, gear, aa's etc and the first thing I noticed is that your ability mod is pretty low, if you get your ability mod to 4,000 I think you'll see a massive improvement, I noticed you reforged into recovery speed maybe you think about changing that to ability mod then reforge recovery once you get more ability mod, also don't bother reforging mana/power yes having more is nice but there are so many other things that make more sense imho. With the aa's I'm gonna agree with Jolach on the damage reduction aa, hibernation and spirit of drudism they are great, on the endline I personally like howling with the pact however I see the benefit of protective instinct endline and also prestige setup, I don't personally use your setup however I can see the benefit of duel conversion and some people do prefer it.

Your adorns and reforging need a lot of work. Restore all your gear, then adorn whites, followed by colors, and lastly finish with reforging.

    Whites (Astral)
WIS - head, shoulders, forearms, legs, charms, neck, waist
Ability Mod - chest, ears, fingers
    Potency - primary, secondary, ranged
Weapon Skills - hands, feet, wrists
    Critical Chance - cloak

    Yellows & Reds
Armor - Potency, Crit Bonus, or Power (whichever is readily available...my personal preference is aiming all Power)
Weapon - Cognent, Overbearing Onslaught, Magnitude (choose two...my personal preference is Cognent + Overbearing Onslaught)

    Reforge
Head - SW DPS into Ability Mod
Shoulders - SW DPS into Ability Mod
Chest - SW MA into Ability Mod
Forearms - SW MA into Ability Mod
Hands - SW DPS into MA
Legs - SW AS into MA
Feet - SW MA into Ability Mod
Weapon - SW MA into Ability Mod
Ranged - SW DPS into Accuracy (0% Accuracy is bad...I bet your hit rates are low)
Melanie Charm - SW MA into Ability Mod
Gloust Charm - SW MA into MA
Phantasm Ear - SW MA into Ability Mod
Underdepths Ear - Casting Speed into Accuracy
Neck - Casting Speed into Accuracy/Ability Mod (your choice)
Forlorn Finger - SW MA into MA
Generals Finger - SW AS into MA
    Wrists - N/A
Waist - SW DPS into MA/Ability Mod (your choice)

    AA

    Everquest 2 AA Calculator

    - Make a macro for Animal Form with your Necromancer as the Primary target. This will help their Lifeburn DPS.
    - Always cast Force of Nature on your Necromancer. This will reduce efforts to heal Lifeburn.
    - Utilize a rotation between Protective Instinct and Tortoise Shell to block/ward most AoE.
    - Cast Regrowth as much as possible since it's now a small AoE heal which refreshes Porcupine. Rely on Porcupine to protect your group (and raid) in between the gaps with PI + TS.
    - CoS, RW, DS, and auto-attack will be your main DPS rotation.
    - Use T-bolt as much as possible on single targets.
    - Use Starnova as much as possible on encounter targets.
    - When using the 3 above, time them in between auto-attacks. Casting a spell that delays a 2hander MA decreases your sustainable DPS.
    - IMHO, HPS is a bad thing to get in the habit of watching. The only time a Mage group should take damage is during an AoE. If pre-cures are accurate, and TS + Porcupine are utilized properly, then you're effectively reducing and blocking incoming damage....less damage = less health to heal = lower HPS. The important thing is less deaths, not higher HPS.

    Have fun

If you're meleeing, would you choose pot over cb adorns?

Thanks so much for all the help!! I'm going to try the suggestions made and completely reforge all my gear and then swap out of some the AA as suggested and see how that treats me. I realize there are two diff. camps on that so maybe it's just what works best for me.

Thanks Alyza for such detail, it's amazing. Yes, I have a hotkey macro for Animal Form that I adjust for whatever Necro I get in my group on raids and even pickups.

I agree here too, but it seemed like others were upset if I wasn't on the top heal parses.. yet if my group isn't taking any damage because I'm doing my job, then my actual healing them isn't going to be that much was my philosophy. Thanks for the validation. ) It's awesome in raids to see the other groups health bars spiking while my group's is solid.

yeah the only time you're going to have HPS even remotely at the top is during solo healing a mob that has direct physical dmg aoes like HM bastion and Drinal. tshell should help block that but it's only probably up every other aoe. those are the only fights where my HPS is crazy high. if there isn't any dmg to heal, then we dont heal.../shrug. as long as your group is not dying, then they shouldnt be complaining.

i'm also a ranged fury and dont bother mele-dpsing unless it's a turn and burn and i happen to be in range. i'm at the point where i feel kinda '...meh' about my dps. on trash, i'm pretty easily distracted or too busy hitting cheetah when ppl get feared - the biggest parses i get are obviously aoe fights and we dont really have to try that hard to parse well... but i usually dont care if i do or not. it's trash. on named fights, i'm typically the highest parsing healer and depending on the fight, out-parse the bards and tanks but my priority will always be group/raid survival... as it should be. i set myself personal goals for my own dps on that fight and do my best to reach them while healing/curing. playing a fury is the ultimate task of multi-tasking nobody in my guild/raid has ever given me shit for not parsing ridiculously high, but they will give me shit if something isn't cured or they die and i could have prevented it.

i'm sure all this advice from everyone else will help you up your dps tremendously, but you still have to cater to your own playstyle and what you care about as a fury.

i'm kind of curious to know what kind of numbers your outputting, as well as the rest of your raid force...

And for anyone seeking help, the above fury said she tops the parse (out of all the healers in the raidforce), but this is not something that normally should happen. On a rare occassion for an AoE fight maybe. But if the inquisitors/wardens arent outparsing the solo healing fury, then they aren't good at their class or they are in grp 4 solo, bringing home the gold for the "special" group. As long as your dps is above shamans/templars, you are problably doing alright.

    Thats imho.
