Default Charm Animal

Can someone give me the details on this AA? Like does the duration go up as you put 8 pts into this? What is the recast time?

I assume this is a great ability for soloing, but how restrictive is it? I mean most of the mobs I see would be considered either humanoid (gnolls, orcs, etc) or Undead or magical...the rest are animals which is a lot.

How soon does it usually break? What is the level cap on mobs charmable, is it based on your current level?

Major detriment to this ability is it uses 3 concentration slots to cast. Most animals also don't have much in the way of taunt or nuke abilities so only add a bit of extra mellee to your fight.

You will have to drop resists and then either an int buff loosing dps or a mit buff loosing defensibility. Both are bad seeing as in a fury+animal combo you will be the one tanking and doing more dps.

I agree 99% of the time the charm AA is nothing more then an extra dot spell on the mob. In some pre 50 area's (TS, EL, Feerrott) this AA may be a bit of a soloing benifit but once your out of these area's its just a waste...the only reason to get it is reach the AoE Immunity AA. In most high lv areas there is little or none animals you can charm, anything you do charm gets scaled to a no up arrow con which basically makes it as strong as a solo mob, so its not gonna help you beat heroic encounters. All in all its a wasted AA, if the pet kept its con and strength, perhaps zoned with you it would be pretty decent solo tool but since it doesnt it just a "for fun" skill imo.
