I've currently installed a handful of sapi5 voices for tts, and I've gotten them to work with act. However, I'd like to be able to modify the pitch. Is it possible to either modify the default, or adjust it within act to have a higher or lower pitch? I don't need to change it mid-speech, but some of the voices are pretty terrible with the default pitch so I'd like to be able to set it to a little more comfortable.
The only thing I've been able to find on the subject is modifying the windows narrator pitch, which doesn't help with ACT.
Would this be something that would have to be done with a plugin, or is it something that can be done either to windows, or to ACT itself?
I use win7 and win10, if that matters.
Re: tts pitch
ACT uses the current Windows default voice and hopefully whatever settings are applied to them. Unfortunately my default installed voices do not have any configurable options that I can see, so I don't really know what is possible. I once tried using some advanced TTS features in ACT, but most of them seemed to do nothing. Possibly because my default voices don't offer any modification controls... but it left me abandoning it since I couldn't support or test it.
Re: tts pitch
I also didn't find a setting to adjust pitch, but given how the narrator works, where you can adjust the pitch of the voice, I assume that its up to the application to adjust pitch. Anyway, thanks for responding.
