I don't want to hand players a 12-page questionaire asking for references before letting them into my group. They're doctors and dreamers with nothing to prove to anyone, and they're here for a good time and so am I. The more needlessly complicated (not to be confused with deep) the combat details, the less they'll bother with them. Not because these people are stupid, but because their instinct tells them they shouldn't have to.

You keep repeating this "piggybacked" whine like I'm supposed to take offense. I held out for a top guild when FoH died because I didn't want to deal with the uncertainties of runner-up guilds.
Fallen? I gave it all up; that kind of endgame wasn't worth anything anymore and became very worth criticizing. Your invitations would be dead to me because I want nothing to do with that second-unpaid-job lifestyle ever again. That's what destroys these games: choosing gear over fun (raiding at best is either big-three-stellar or everyone-else-abysmal), and finding yourself demeaning and degrading the remaining thousands of the server population as "noobs". Fuck you for having done it, and fuck me for having done it. I came to this game to chill with countless people from everywhere, not for this bullshit.
Wait until large amounts of players reach the dead end of the heroic parts of their epic quests, and how the devs will be forced to respond, and you'll see where the power is held, and where it belongs. It has turned out to be a bad thing that most proc and other gear absolutely sucks frayed asshole hairs unless you raid, and that's why people bite their tongues and raid when they know they'd much rather be doing other things in the game, even if it means idling in Qeynos Harbor while chatting up a storm. The sooner the devs understand this as I have, game on, subscriptions will go through the roof. Illuminator is right about this, don't try to convince him otherwise.
Sometimes you need a complete reboot to be able to see things as they are without worrying about your dkp or which officer you'll offend. And this is how they are.
