Example of why we have a 15 minute edit limit:

Because people start multi page drama posts, and then try and escape the consequences of their stupidity by deleting all their posts when they get owned, leaving multi-page posts with half the replies deleted.
If you looked in the Admin Feedback section at the bottom of this forum where this type of information is discussed, instead of just posting to the "General Gameplay" section, you would notice, still on the first page, a vote about this same issue:
http://www.eq2flames.com/showthread.php?t=540
You can see that the great majority of users who voted wanted to lower the posting time from 24 hours to 15 minute, and all the good reasons why they voted that way.
Finally, if you clicked on this link:
Now users can get edit rights to "special" posts in the server forums!
you wouldn't have needed to start this thread at all. That link is to an announcement currently in plain view on the top of each and every forum on this web site. As stated in the announcement, I can now provide an exception to the 15 minute edit rule for informational and list-type posts. Any user who starts a post can request permanent edit rights in the first post of that thread, and will then be able to update their list or information in that post anytime they want.
These are three examples of posts where users have been givin edit rights to edit and add information in posts they started:
http://www.eq2flames.com/showthread.php?t=572
http://www.eq2flames.com/showthread.php?t=771
http://www.eq2flames.com/showthread.php?t=888
Edit rights will be given to anyone who wants to make informational posts, such as "WTB and sell" lists, guild recruiting threads (so they can update classes needed), and "fun" threads for lists of favorite quotes, etc. I will give edit rights for anything reasonable and involving any type of information or content anyone wants to start.
I will not give edit rights to people for "flame" threads, e.g., "Top 100 reasons why XYZ is a dumbass retarded no-skill faggot bitch, post your additions below mine."
I've now posted and reposted some of the above information so many times, that some people have complained about the number of times I've reposted this information. If you look around a little bit before starting posts like this, you will save me alot of time, and also from having to deal with responses from people who claim this level of admin involvement amounts to "moderation". I don't want to moderate, I want to put systems in place that give people maximum rights and keep others from wasting my time.
Thanks
