People who start posts like this shouldnt be in dkp guilds.

For fuck sake nothing drives me more nuts than people bitching about bards taking loot that would benefit them more. No fucking item in the game will change your raids ability to succeed or fail. People who bitch about this (90% of the time) are just using this argument as a ruse usually to hide their fucking greed for not wanting to pay dkp for some of the best items in the game.

The 26 people so far who have responded "no" are fucking ignorant, pigfucking, asshats. Fucking get over your greedy, taint-for-brain selves already and go join a non-dkp guild because obviously the concept is too much for your simple minds.

How about "does the guild want to grow stronger" or "does the guild want to fuck over their bards because they're second rate buff bots that don't deserve good weapons because they're better on a pred or rogue"? I think that's really the question here.

Whine some fucking more - an upgrade is an upgrade for everyone. I hate when people whine that some class got something they wanted. Especially when they have more dkp and are just too fucking cheap to spend what they need to get the item they want.

truer words havent been spoken in this thread. in tuatha sure we have people who vary in skill levels, and also in our interests in gear. im the main monk, and our main bruiser and i talk a ton about gear. i let him get a ton of gear for cheaper than he would have otherwise and in the future he said he would do the same for me. our weapon choices also differ. he prefers weapons with a much shorter delay (1.6 delay vs 2.5 delay) than i do, and as such we agreed that if weapons of those types drop we will let them go to each other for minimum, and pick them up later if they drop again just so we can play with them ourselvs and see how they work. i voted no the dirge shouldnt get the item only because i have an outspoken interest in maximizing a raids preformance, and i dont know of any dirge who currently uses a 1h/shield spec. however, that weapon will be a great one for the dirge to have once the next live update comes about, and im happy for him getting such a nice drop.

if shit happens, make an effort to solve it. maybe your guild should consider having the leaders decide what items are best for what classes. i know if a vrask claw club dropped for us it would go to one of our fighters before another class straight up, because in our guild they would get the most milage out of it. does that mean it isnt good for another class? hell no that thing rocks, but there are better weapons a healer can use when they are HEALING than that one, and since we arent the best guild on the server it helps to let the primary classes that use certain gear get them first.

100 dps on a bard or 100 dps on a random scout(completely made up numbers), who gives a fuck it all effects the raid positively in the end.

uhmmm my i agree with bards being dps and having full right to loot any dps item they can bid on.
where i draw line is when healers begin looting DPS items and DPS start looting scout items AND OT's start looting MT items.. see because this means you dont konw what your doing

I admit that I don't raid much this days but com on this tread is stupid, when I did I raided US times meing I could mange to attend more then max of 60% of raid do to time zone, even then I supposed I DKP attended system even if I got shafted, a player that have higher attendees will logical get higher DKP and therefore be a greater benefit then the other class for a weapon since he will be more around..

this is simple basic of attendees DKP even I as a RP KoS once in a wild raider understand that...

whoa stop the bus...I lol'd a lil. I think bard earned the item. We had a clearcutter that dropped and no brig/swash/assass got it. But TBH to quote one of our assassains..

yea this is the basic idea, the only difference is that AFAIK rouge/pred has a higher base auto attack damage, and OFC they also get much better boosts to their auto attack damage than a dirge. but seriously, who fucking cares whats done is done, and the weapon will drop again. obviously your guild isnt having trouble killing hte mob if you have 2 already, more will come.

You're a tool. You can't selectively apply the rules. Bards are OK but healers aren't? Look, these people worked and earned their dkp and they can bid whatever the fuck they want on it. If I lose a staff of light to a fury or defiler, I won't cry about it, I'll just be happy because the next time around I know they won't be bidding!
