Makes perfect sense to me. You can explode a bomb above water and destroy a boat without hurting the little fishies below.

Re: Exploit, A Definition?
if you shoot a bullet into water it will only be effective up to like 10 ft or something so ya, water is pretty crazy imo

Re: Exploit, A Definition?
Why do you think people duck under water when a bomb goes off in the movies? Have you ever been in a pool and had someone push you? You don't move very far at all. So yes, it does make perfect logical sense that water would negate a "push" or "throw" effect.

If you're completely submerged in the water, it would still take quite a force to completely lift you out of the water. Even a force as large as one that would throw you "400 feet into the air" (and not hurt you on the way down... o.O) would still MAYBE get you to the surface and a foot or two over. Water is extremely resistant to motion changes.

They still didn't get it, after trying about everything you could think of to gimp the encounter. They also pulled Hurricanus away from the idol, making it to where liftfingers never spawned, and when adds came 'cause his initial adds had been thrown off cliffs, they just sat there with Hurricanus halfway across the zone. This, to me, is Grade A exploitaton, trying to remove an element or multiple elements of an encounter to gain advantage, mostly because your guild sucks ass and can't do it legit.

mm I really wouldn't call that exploiting, especially since the mobs are just mezzable.. pretty creative actually:smiley-wink:
possessing MO adds to farm chests, yeah that would be an exploit

I fight Tarinax completely submerged. I happen to know Simon does as well (I watch over his shoulder). As a chanter in a guild that opts to mez the adds, its easier to see them from under the water. I also find positioning to be easier, as i can see his feet under water and can tell which way he's facing.

It completely is technically. In fact, the dev didn't even think about the fact that there was water in the room while I was with Eidolon beta testing Tarinax. He didn't realize it until we were testing him that water = knockbacks made pointless.

i know.... but if tarinax actually got a claw or something under you and lifted you up and tossed you, there'd be a follow through, and you most certainly would get tossed into the air. to be honest, i was just being technical. since you're a GNOME i'm sure he'd have no trouble lifting you out of the water and squishing you against the wall. :smiley-tongue:
