The change is garbage. There are alot of high level guilds out there that have alot of low level members and now sony has basically said "Oh I am sorry your contributtions to the guild do not count"

Just read back as a lot of people have quoted Sony already. They don't want you to buy your way to the next level. I mean shit, 20 levels in a year. Gotta have SOMETHING to lvl up since characters will be level 80 in a week after it comes out.

I think think how the whole guild level system needs a complete overhaul in general.

No one can deny the fact that me saving up items such as these that take absolutely no guild interaction whatsoever to be used when the expansion hits in order to lvl the guild up in one day is a broken system.

Furthermore why are solo quests (writs) even contributors of guild status. Wouldnt you think that a way to improve your guild would require you to at least accomplishing something in cordination with said guild?

As far as raid status works. How have they not realized at least differences between tier. I can get more guild status running through Courts than doing most of the KoS content. heh as far as contesteds are concerned Mayong = Borxx.

The system they currently have is a joke. Guild level means absolutely nothing and it ulitmately a waste of time and very unfulfilling to anyone who does it. With that being the case i dont care if they just auto ding everyone to max guild level.

I can see 3 types of people who look for rewards that they would consider "good." Tradeskillers want cool TS stuff, heroic players love their formalwear, mounts, titles, and the raiderbase likes usefulness in combat.

I dont know why they havent figured out these markets and catered to each one. Writs yield heroic rewards, Tradeskill writ yield tradeskill rewards and Raid status yield raid rewards. Seems to make pretty much sense to me.

I also dont understand guild level is the requirement for what item you can buy. Status is fucking status. If i have status, im the famous one not my guild.

Guild status should be used to purchase guild items to be used as a guild IE the group of people you should be working with in order to get your guild lvl.

Anyways, make guild levels hard to get and people who can only deal with instantaneous gratification get all pissy. Make it easy and you get the people that bitch its not fair how easy it is for everyone and their brother to reap the rewards of good items. So ultimately we have a system thats easy to lvl up with shit rewards so some people get a illusion of accomplishment while the others just dont give a shit b/c of how pointless the system is.

That is actually a great idea Widem. There really should be different rewards based upon the type of status earned to cater to the different parts of the eq2 population. I'm not sure if they could/would make such drastic changes at this point, but it would make a lot more sense.
