I got my gf to play and she now has more 70 toons than I do.

Basically I repeatedly apologised for spending so much time in game when she was around (this was before we moved in together) she didn't mind, she said because she could see EQ2 was something I really enjoyed. She saw the fun we have in our guild, the in jokes and all the stupidity, like the all capslock nights and dumb shit like that and eventually she made a character, a zerker like me and didn't look back. Now she's got a 70 warlock and 70 warden as well and she plays the fucking game more than I do

So to sum up, just show them how much fun the game can be and you're onto a winner.

For about 2 years i had my wife addicted to harvesting, which was great it meant I never had to myself. She would harvest with my retired pally. I think is was kinda like a slot machine for here when she found a rare she was stoked. Made me enough money to master out a couple toons. Sadly she is bored of it now and I have to harvest for myself, but it was great while it lasted.

My husband started playing EQ1....used to drive me nuts all the hours he spent playing while I was off doing my thing...work, book, sleep...then when EQ2 came out we both tried it for a bit...but I had always been a tiny bit interested in EQ1 since that was the game I initially watched him play for an hour here and an hour there. I've never been much of a gamer until I started EQ1.
It wasn't so bad....until the drama started and I got to a deadend cause I hated looking for a damn group all the time to get stuff done. I'm more of a...I wanna do it myself and alone kinda person...however the tradeskills were a ton of fun...guess that's the woman in me...I love to craft and create stuff...express myself "artistically" so to speak.
I spent all of 4 months in EQ1 and then switched back to EQ2...and I haven't stopped since. I now have two lvl 70 toons and a third one the way.

If you are looking for a friendly low key environment I would suggest either crushbone server or test. Both have really nice communities to start with and friendly people who will take the time to explain stuff and help out no questions asked. I can recommend a good guild on Crushbone if yer open to it and yer girlfriend can be all the mangina she can be and will be wholeheartedly accepted. Test is the same way...I can get her into a good guild there as well.

Sims online. I got my wife on sims online which is a very social no skill type game, from there it was an easy shift to eq.

Oh. If you're on PVP that may be why she doesn't want to play... a lot of people (esp women... I love PvP console games but I don't like the randomness and ganking crap) really don't like that kind of atmosphere, myself included. Kay plays on the PvP servers some and altho I *attempted* to play a char there, it's not my thing and if it was all I had known of EQ I probably wouldn't have 5 almost 6 level 70s now... lol... far more than my ex that let me use his PC to play for the first time. Maybe try making a char with her on the PvE servers and run around the isle with her, or even Kelethin. If you're new to MMOs I would never, ever, ever suggest starting on a PvP server.

I remember when my husband and I were waiting for eq2 to come out.. I had never played an mmo before and wasnt sure it would be fun. When it came out we only had one computer too. But I started playing it (I was already a closet gamer playing tabletop games and such) and next thing I knew we were fighting over the computer. Soon I was yelling at him to build me my own computer so we could play together. I guess it also helps that I play on a rp server (lucan dlere) and I like to RP... I cannot stand pvp..
