Getting you girl to play?

How did some of you get your girl/wife to play this game? Mine hates sitting down for long periods of time. But yet at times she'll watch me and I ask if she wants to make a character she keeps saying no.

MMOGs aren't for everyone. I know a lot of men that can't stand to play either.

First off, you have to be honest.

You and her go for a walk, tell her how much spending time with her is important to you. Tell her you have a very small project that won't take too long. Have her help you design a fae, start showing her the wearable armor that classes can wear. Try to get her to make all the decisions regarding the toon (other than the play server ;-). congratulate her on making her first character and have her sit down for a little while to listen to the opening story.

With your GF you are going to have to reward her every time she sits and plays... you need to come up with what she likes and start doing that with her also... This will get her to play more ;-)

Eh, now all my leet skrets are out on the next.. im so busted...

It basically depends on why she doesn't want to play it. She may be concerned about you judging her or her not being able to do well in game due to lack of experience in it... or she may just not be interested. If you only have one computer in the situation then she might just not want to play without you. Like most things, if you don't know why, just ask her. If you can get some reasons out of her then you're a few steps closer. I personally already wanted to play EQ or at least try it, my BF just provided the means (computer that was capable of running it stable connection and an already active account sub for me to try it on).

We already live together, so its not like we don't ever spend time together, unless im in the office and shes at her office. I don't play 24/7 anymore like I used to maybe 15-30 hours a week. I've always been a gamer, she understands that. She already created a toon before and moved around for 2-3 mins then logged off and never back on. We both do everything together, but she wont' play the game together.
