and faabio was right pvp servers are better than pve servers
Come back and talk shit when you can kill end game mobs, or even the hard instanced mobs.

We really don't care about all the ass-patting you guys enjoy on your PVP servers. It's just more fun for us to kill monsters and get real loot than zerg nubs and take their lunch money. :smiley-very-happy:

Did you not see troubadors and such in T5? haha
Yes, I did. Fortunately, I read the title of this thread and was refering to the fact that bards have not changed since the introduction of PvP. You should probably learn to do the same.

Real intelligence > Artificial intelligence. Fact. No one cares how many scripts you can learn. Try fighting something that changes every time. Try unpredictability.

Before we go further here, let me just say that I like you guys, and respect your desire to choose the playstyle of your choice.

But your playstyle is not superior to mine.

(here's where it get's rough =p Please, don't take this personally. If you actually get pissed at me for what I'm about to say, you are a nub both in game and RL, and I don't care whether you believe I'm being serious or not)

The fact is, virtually everyone on a PvP server went there because they couldn't achieve the level of success they wanted on a PvE server. Yes, most of you guys were in "B" guilds and went to PvP for a fresh start, because you couldn't hack it and wanted an opportunity to compete against nubs so you'd have a fair chance of elevating your self in this game, since your previous attempts to do that failed.

In my case, I was already in a top guild, fully laden with the finest fabled gear available in game, and a crew of alts more decked with fabled and masters than most of your mains. Why the fuck would I want to go to PvP lol? I've got hundreds and hundreds of plat, and more than I could ever want on my PvE server. No fricken way am I gonna start over dirt poor, that would be like giving my house and bank account away RL. I already did that once to my ex-wife, so no thank you, I'll keep my shit and stay where I am this time.

I can appreciate how many of you have convinced each other you are better than us by playing in an environment that includes factors not present on PvE servers. Many of you believe this makes you more skeeled. I disagree. If you were as skilled as the top guilds on PvE, you would have never run from us in the first place.

:smiley-happy:

Carry on.

I liked the PvP servers, but I didn't find them better or worse.

Actually, the only reason I started on PvP was because I was looking to spend some time on a new server in raid downtimes. It got too easy for me though, since everyone else was also trying out PvP and there were a lot of noobs who wanted gear. Farming low level stuff which everyone overpaid for racked up the plat and after I had a fully mastered level 40's guardian and warden, I went back home.

As for real intelligence being better than fake intelligence? There were a few tactics I didn't expect - but they were then repeated ad nasuem. Yeah, rangers evaccing when they're low health, smart. Scouts running up hills, okay. Defeated people reviving and rezerging if you were near a revive point, that's different. But most "tactics" were zergs (nothing truly innovative about that) or ambushes (which I mostly survived).

At my level and leveling up, when they were in my range, most of the players were easier than most mobs. I could take on a "heroic" group of 5 or 6 by myself unless their levels were much higher than mine. And there's no "challenge" being ganked by a raid of 20-24 people. The only interesting/tough fight I had was a very high level Illusionist (35) when I was 27. I even defeated rangers and conjurors who were 55 when I was 44.

As long as you know the game mechanics, neither encounter, player nor mob, was really much different.

while i agree with lfg on most of his points, not all people went to pvp to escape thier failure.

Most of them did yes, but I kno a lot of people in good, higher end guilds that left, or at least spend thier time there.

I enjoy it.
