1. more encounters that take more than one night to beat them and aren't just the same old shit.

2. PROGRESSION

3. better itemization

4. more contested mobs (T5 had a good number, T6 and T7 don't have as many combined)

Personally i would start small, I really like alot of the responses. But really some of them need to be explained deeper.

"Itemization" - Pleasse elaborate, I do realize others have. but i really would like to know how you would do it differently.

Now to one item on my list.

I would make Mounts matter -
* I would redo the encumbrance system and give mounts 'saddle bags' for storing bulkier items that may be needed more frequently then trips to a bank.
* I would make casters and ranged use special mounts or feel the pain of casting or bow shooting from an unstable mount, In turn these special mounts would give benifits(+Range(the distance not the skill), +Focus).
* I would make Tank specific mounts that increase any or all of these in some combination Mitigation/Hate Gain/Resists.
* The speed increase variance between mounts would not be determined by the tier of the mount and more by the style of mount.(after all travel in this game isn't very hard)
* I would Make mounts susceptible to Fear effects(this would be resistable at higher tiers and also vary by the style of mount)
* i would give specific styles of mount built in effects(such as magic or melee attacks, Damage shields)

Um.

Mini-games. Everything needs mini-games. Colorful happy fun minigames. Besides the damn lottery. Like... archery targets or... something dumb like that. Besides the arena also.

Not to the point of ridiculousness, but colors. (Though the EoF dye thing sounds awesome, I will be the guardian of pink! Or anything that can come close.)

Different battle music, the default EQ2 battle themes SUCK and the unused ones (dig into the folders and you'll see) are epic. But they're never used for some reason. I use the Soul Calibur, Star Fox Assault, and FullMetal Alchemist soundtracks for battle themes.

Larger zones.

Different mounts, I love horses just as much as the next little girl but please... camels maybe? Poodles? (Yes, I know, carpets and hoverdiscs, but I want me some animals.)

More solo instances.

Puzzle instances. Think The Legend of Zelda. Splitpaw gets old. I'm talking full dungeons with traps and whatnot and nameds and everything. With a lot of jumping. Closest I can think is the Halls of Fate.

More zone music. I love the Freeport, Qeynos, Thundering Steppes and maybe a few other themes, but the rest suck. Except the DoF and KoS soundtracks, I burned a CD of those. They're fscking awesome.

Racial traits, i.e. tail armor for certain races? Kerra have a little bit more safe fall than other races? Ratonga can slip through stuff more? Erudites can break out of mental DOTs quicker? Etc.

That's just me and hooolyyy crap the period's over I should get to the next class!

Games are always a cool addition...They could have interactive chessboards in the inns. I know all the regular inns have chessboards on the table. They could set it up so that if there's someone standing on the other side of the chessboard from you, they can challenge you to chess or checkers. On the wall next to the board will be the top 10 chess winners with the number of peeps they beat.

Or maybe not. That sounds too complicated for SOE...lol. One day we'll have chess and the next the imbuement on somebody's gear'll backfire, poisoning them instead of healing em...

Progression
I couldnt agree more... While instances put more and more on an equal playing field there is a total lack of progression...Its more along the lines they gave you the custodians key caddy and said feel free to go into any place you want ( save 1 )...

Lets see.. Lets make a small comparison to a lil eq1 with progression

I see the progression in EQ 2 more like EQ1 Pre PoP than anything...

Lets see...
EQ1 Kunark - 1 Mob kill ( 4 Times ) to get access to Veeshans Peak
EQ1 Velious - 1 Mob Kill ( 60 Times ) from 4 diffrent mobs to get access to Sleepers Tomb
EQ1 Luclin - 1 Long bitch Quest of picking up worthless Crap and a few kills to get access to vex thal.

Then PoP... Multiple quests that offered progression making you earn your way up... If you couldnt deal / defeat Tier 4 Mobs, you didnt go to Tier 5.. and if you didnt goto Tier 5, you sure as hell didnt go into time.

Why was this implimented?

If more than anything the reason is obviousl...

A) Players dont want to do a VP type quest that requires one kill to get to the end of the tier...
B) Players dont want to Kill a mob 60 times to get 60 Necklaces to access one zone...
C) Players find it fucking annoying to sit at a loc with 6 other people spamming a pick up key for 8 hours while waiting for a ground spawn to pop only to see some random newb pick up a quest item that they have no clue of what it does or what quest it pertains to and beleives the word raid refers to a bug deterant. ( I know its a run on.. but seriously, go fuck youself )

So..It was implimented to have a natural progression. This spaced guilds out so that Higher level guilds could get out of the hair of lower level guilds. Also forced you to progress your gear as it only makes sense....

Itemization

I dont think I really need to touch more on this subject as its beating a dead horse.. notes have been taken.. and hopefully ... Hopefully... the common fix of put some FT on it has been removed from the game.

Some things will change over time, that's a given. EQ2 just sucks enough that they have to keep changing over and over. its a constant oops that isn't working. all the sudden being a commoner and choosing your classes as you play didn't work...yet you till have the split class duality, how long until they finally say oops that isn't really working either. I don't know how is this?

Totally revamp all the classes make them better make them race specific like there were in EQ1 BUT! bring back commoners say you gotta get this commoner to level 5 to start training as a druid for example. or but hey I don't want to be a druid, so you have to level up a bit more and brave a journey to a evil city and train there as a halfling shadow knight instead.

just if anything, the split class duality needs to go. it'll never happen I think but hey keep the ideas flowing so maybe they can design a half way decent EQ3.. /cough just go to vanguard /cough /cough

Pffft. I LIKE the instances. I like going in there and not having to rush to the end guy because of competition. I'm a huge explorer. I like taking my time to see what's around the corner.

1) for the long of god SoE stop giving into the babies who cant kill a mob so you nerf it. ( perfect example darathor) Red, then orange then yellow then gimp
2) Progression if you join a family guild who raids and cant get pass the content well then your up shit creek without a paddel.

bring back camps eq2 killed the community haveing people wait on list...
just like frenzy that was a badass camp for fbss 20persons list but you got to know more people that way.
