I would love it if they had 24 individual classes that they could balance, but lets face it that hasn't and probably won't happen. Assassins and rangers are a good example of balancing. They are very different but with similar outcomes (yes I know ranger dps is bad atm). I just don't think they have the capability to really balance classes right now. Changing the system now would only result in more losses. Leaving the system as it is will result in losses. They have really painted themselves into a bad corner.

I'm all for trying something new. A revamp of the classes is not it though. If there is something missing then, I'm all for new exciting improvements and if I thought that would increase the fun factor or SOE wouldnt totally screw it up. I would totally agree to mingling the classes especially if we can add a couple totally different ones to spice up the place. I know I keep beating the horse with m'Beastlord talk, but hey...lol

I just dont think that the class merging is the problem with the game. Separate class should actually bring more if they distribute out equally right. I see alot of mage only items. Tank only items. etc. Its not distributed equally. It wasnt from the start and it prolly never will be.

You said that you dont think class merging is the issue. Answer this question then - Do you raid?

The person who started these polls is a raid based player. If you dont, then you cant understand the purpose of class merger. Its purpsoe is for raiding, grping isnt effected by classes that are useless on raids. Unfortunately they geared the game way to heavily for grp and solo players.

I know. I've said that already...lol. No I dont raid, though which is why I said maybe for raiding guilds it would matter about what classes there are but for the average grouping player, it wouldnt matter. It wouldnt add or detract from the fun factor. I originally started this thread as a sorta kidding thread becuz I kept seeing the polls to merge chars. It went from there.

But no, i dont raid. In the 2 years this game has been out I'd say I've raided about 6 times. Small things that wouldnt be considered great raids like Speaks Like a Dragon, Terrantula, or Labs. Its fun for what it is, but I do mostly quests, writs, and small group xp(which I do rarely) which is why I lvl reallllllllly slow...lol.

I dont think raiders will be all that happy for long becuz its geared around the average joe and not a raider. You cant force people to raid, so most dont, and maybe that's why they cant keep up with the raiding demand? They could of course just keep adding new things to the raid instances they have to spice it up, but in the long run, I dont think raiders will stay happy for long.

People are telling me rangers are bad but tonight our ranger was consistently doing 1.8K on single targets in Lyceum. Am I missing something?

Rangers are not bad. Gonna have to ask somebody like Assimini who I think does raids as to what the norm is in that area. Maybe that's an above average ranger for a group/raid. Oh and other toons have more to offer the group in way of buffs and things like that. Even though we have really good slows which has saved me more than once and arrows in the butt never anybody...but the mobs...heh
