Think it depends on the player how easy or tough it is with the new version of AR vs the old. My playstyle has only changed on some mobs. Most of my hate problems pre-eof were me being bored and not deaggroing or tank suckage.

Think Warden has to be one of the easiest classes to play. All you have to really do is set up all your buffs and then heal every now and then. Dps does not really exist and all heals have a regen on them so you just hit them when they come up. Maybe just maybe you will throw up your tree and use your stun heal.

Just curious as to why you most people are listing the coercers as harder to play than illusionists? Arent most of thier spells based on reactives? Where as ours are based on casting cycles for max dps? I can full well say i dont know much about coercers spells etc so just wondering on that one.

Fizbang

P.S.
perhaps its cause they usually have a more visible roll; bieng in the mt group

i think most people think that just cuz of the random charm breaks....like it fucking means anything. but yeah after playing both, i think coercers are slightly harder. i mean for illus, to max DPS u just gotta spec right, pick the right gear, and mash buttons using ur biggest hits first basically. coercers gotta watch out for WHAT they are mashing.....cuz their one big AE for example is a stun (as opposed to our stifle)....and if u cast that stun at the wrong time u lower ur DPS more than u should cuz ur reactives wont go off during that time.

plus, illusionists have savante. i mean yeah coercers have more regen an shit, but any enchanter can tell u that regen doesnt keep up when u have perpetuality. so 55 secs of half mana usage (plus mana procs which end up actually increasing ur mana pool during that time) wins.

In my opinion:

Hardest:

Main Tanks
DPS Casters (Wiz/Warlock)

Now by saying this, I'm not trying to take away from anyone's class or suggest it wasn't as hard for you to gear up/climb through those 70 levels.

My reasoning for these choices?

Main Tanks: Everyone constantly looks at the MT to lead everything. There's often other people that will take on this responsibility, but your playing a class that CAN NOT ninja-afk. Even taking a phone call will usually be fairly obvious to your groupmates/raid members. Your gear is likely under close scrutiny by all, and pulling isn't always easy either. On top of this, your gear and spells are expensive as hell. Basicly while your tanking, you get NO rest. If you rest, everything comes to a grinding stop. Chain pulling for a few hours can be VERY tirinig.

DPS Casters(Wiz/Warlock): Many people seem to be of the opinion all you need to do with a DPS caster is stand ranged and mash buttons. If you do this, you will NEVER beat skilled players. To really rip off top DPS you have to cast things in the *right* order. This spell order changes from mob to mob depending on a number of things. If the mobs are dropping fast? Different combination. If they're dropping slow? Same. Because of the slower casting speeds, DPS casters are VERY specific on casting order. One missed spell can be the difference between top DPS, and third place.

Beyond this, we have the issue of hate control. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have raid leaders that understand how to properly setup Wizards/Warlocks for maximum DPS. My warlock for example will *still* pull aggro with Mastered Amends, AND coercer hate reduction running. This is with a hate reduction robe, two hate reduction spells, and a hate reduction pet.

Many people don't understand the entire idea behind being a *good* dps caster is not only avoiding aggro, but kicking out maximum DPS. This means walking a very fine line between flat out death, and awsome DPS. This "line" where you take aggro changes in every single group, or every single raid depending on configuration.

I think it's pretty well known the Warlocks/Wizards will wrack up repair bills very very quickly.

interesting that you think that wizard and warlock are the only ones that these things apply to.

Why else would a Sorceror believe that anyone can do what they do? And also, with a solid MT setup and some solid hate generation, a Warlock can rip off well over 2k zonewide in raid zones (FTH for example) and not ever pull aggro.

I think from playing a warlock part way through KoS is their hate reduction is plain pathetic, that and their spells seem to generate hate more then anyother classes. Swashy and Assassins dump near 30% away. Rangers have godly abilities to lower hate in comparison. Only other dpser with major issues would be a brigand as they dont get the hate dumps like the other 3. Dont even start on summoners with that pet hate is hardly ever a issue. Not saying is so hard but is way unbalanced compared to other teir 1 dps in comparison to wizzy/warlock.

That's a completely false statement.
Summoners do NOT have a hate reduction. While half or so of our hate is generated towards the pet, if we are in a zone with an unavoidabe AE, or something along those lines, or the pet gets AEed for whatever reason, we get all of that hate dumped onto us. Hate doesn't work in a linear fashion, and that big of a hate spike puts us right at the tip top of the list.

Three things:

1. Conjurors get stoneskin, a useless hate reduction really but it still is one.
2. You pet shouldn't be dying very often. If it's a non-physical AoE, you ran out of any sort of pet saves, then sure, the pet might die. How often does that happen to you?
3. If your necros (with the exception of LB) and conjurors are pulling aggro even semi-often, then somethings wrong with your MT or your MT group setup.

Even if your pet dies you should have a competent enough MT to hold aggro. Aggro should never be an issue for a summoner, unlike sorcerers.
