Maybe it's just my personal experience playing casters for a long time, but I agree that Wizards and Warlocks are not difficult in raids or groups. Frustrating maybe, but not difficult. Both classes consist primarily of spamming nukes while stationary and understanding what damage threshhold you can obtain.

I also feel that Conjuror and necromancer are similarly easier classes to play than you suggested, although necromancers have a tougher time on raids because they have to be quick to FD if they want to avoid a wipe, or if they are required for rezzing. Both classes primarily consist of sending in pets along with their nukes, passing out hearts, healing their pets or others occassionaly, and some pulling on bosses.

On the other hand both Coercers and Illusionists can be difficult, with skill required, given the encounter. As was noted, both classes are fairly similar, both have short duration buffs and damage. When there's craziness going on, a lot of awareness is required to mez correctly, and there is no difference between the classes there. The only possible difference is a coercer has to be more skilled to carry around a charmed pet.

Dirges get a little more difficult than troubadours on raid because they have to run around to rez people, while troubadours rarely have to use their mez or charm abilities. But both classes debuff, temporary buff, and dps similarly.

Ranger can be very annoying if you are trying to maximize dps. The same reason I find casters easy, is why I find rangers annoying to play - running in and out and keeping track of ammo.

Which would mean, that AR is a useless ability and isn't class defining! So, which is it, AR is great/useful, or AR is completely useless because you can joust pretty damn easy. Decide on that, and you'll see why AR is overpowered.

in my opinion, no class is harder than any other, as long as you know what you are doing, the only thing that anyone does is hit hotkeys in a specific order and they are really good at their class. the only real difference is that DPS does it all the time, and healers have visual cues, like a tank's health dropping, or a debuff landing and needing curing.

AR is not overpowered because jousting is hard but because they dont have to joust. Jousting does not add any difficulty to playing a class.

If you choose wizard, it is because you do not play wizard, or you are mediocre at it.

You have no auto-attack worth speaking of, which means (1) all of your dps is determined by your knowledge of what spell order is optimal, (2) all of your dps is easily interrupted, especially by motion, (3) your cast timers are long enough that an interrupt or resist is costly, and (4) when you die and get rezzed, it takes a period of idleness before you can recover power and do dps again.

You are completely dependent on the rest of the raid to mitigate your aggro and to debuff the enemy to the point where you can do reasonable dps. If someone slacks on their debuff, you drop down the parse list because your spells resist or hit for shit. If an illusionist uses a pet instead of giving you Synergism, you suffer. If you need a reliable troubador and nobody's getting off their ass to recruit one, you suffer. Therefore, being a wizard includes bitching at people to do their fucking jobs.

Pressing random toolbar buttons + Ice Nova whenever it's up is expected, but it won't make you great by a long shot.

You guys keep forgetting monks... The only reason it is hard though, is because most good guilds only take one monk, if they even take one, so usually have to be best of the class, anyone can be a solo monk...

I have played a troub to 50, and in a PuG environment, as I have not raided, troubs are super easy as you don't have to twist or anything like that, you are just shitty dps with buffs...
